Man, the amount of people I've seen say this live stream was 'yapping' was so annoying. God forbid the devs are passionate about their game 💀If you don't wanna hear yap, then don't watch or look up the event page later. So strange
I feel you, I literally marathon every reaction that I could found, and man where's the reaction that I'm there for? Most of them just didn't read the subtitle and don't understand the context and complain that the dev's yapping bruh
Yeah true. The ''yapping'' is actually a big reason why this is my favourite livestream so far😂. It was very interesting hearing the devs talk about the game in depth and I think it's cool because it shows that they actually care about it. It's a shame that some people can't appreciate that.

the section where they talked about leaks is actually sad. They tackled about the story leaks but you can feel the frustration since this isnt the only time they faced issue with leaked information spread in the wrong way. The genshin 4.4 issue started due to the free skin thing. A lot of people fell for it and got disappointed during livestream. This is why they mentioned "intentional or not" since the leakers specifically said that they have no idea how the free skin is obtained, they only have evidence that there is such thing. People then twisted this info wrongly and then the backlash
Hot take: I understand that people want completely zero leak info but to me, I will always look forward to banner leaks so I can plan my pulls ahead
Even for banner leaks you also need to be careful because I see a lot of "leakers" saying that Fu Xuan and topaz is the rerun banner for 2.1 but it actually Luocha and Jing Liu so right now I probably suggest look at materials leaks then everything else
I don’t mind banner and character leaks, since I like to know whether to save or pull in advance. Story leaks, on the other hand are pretty terrible, especially since lots of clickbait RUclipsrs put them in the thumbnail
they dont put banner information in the beta files anymore, so there is no reliable way to datamine reruns in advance.
Yeah, and it's understandable for them, especially since story leaks as they said, aren't comparable to the real thing usually. Having a story log is already better, but most story leaks say something like "Nahida gives away the 2 gnosis to Dottore" or something and that doesn't give context to everything that happened around that and made her do such a thing, then you add their scene planning with character animations and expressions (with Hoyo's limitations given the models they work with), camera work, voice acting and the occasional cutscenes and it's a completely different experience.
But characters leaks, kit leaks and banner leaks are never bad per se if they're right, at least for the playerbase, the game producers might disagree tho since it does hel F2Ps or low spenders to often avoid spending or spend as little as possibile.
So it was kinda annoying to hear Bran say how everyone complaning about the yapping was the same people who enjoys leaks, 'cause it's obviously not just them, and definitely not all of them. Let's face it, a considerable portion of the fanbase (for Genshin and HSR, as well as HI3 tbh) is toxic as fvck, and it's not just leak enjoyers, or waifu/husbando enjoyers or meta enjoyers, or anything. It's so dumb to attribute such toxicity to just 1 group, especially since most people of any of these groups just wanna enjoy what they do enjoy.
I look forward not to banner leaks but just the CHARACTER leaks (but not entirely, like I don't look at their kit, I just want to know who will be the upcoming characters that are most likely to be next)
Example:
- skipped DanIL, lost 50/50 for Fu Xuan, pulled for guaranteed Jingliu E0S1
- skipped Topaz, lost 50/50 for Huohuo, pulled for guaranteed Silver Wolf (rerun)
I will say, the people who keep saying they are yapping, are the people who have attention span of a tiktok video😂

If people don't want to hear yapping then they should just not watch the stream. All the info is gonna get distributed bit by bit, anyways, it's just gonna happen a day or two later.
Then again, it's just that people are impatient and don't care about anything except things that make their fried dopamine processors go 'bzzt', so of course they'd grab the easiest source like a stream and spam them to go faster to hear about the "cool shit".
Also like after live stream all the info from livestream is added to that website which game can link to so just read that if you are not interested in livestream itself

It's wild the amount of people I've seen actually believed that Lantern Rite is the anniversary.
To make it worse, they believed Lantern Rite is the anniversary AND that Lantern Rite only gave 3 pulls.
Is cause the devs said the rewards were for the anniversary of the game (1 per each year). So it felt like an anniversary (Lintern Rite is literally the anniversary)

EDIT: It seems misinformation skewed my own perception a bit. Rewatching 4.4, it does in fact seem like it was "for the past year" rather than "3 years". Point remains either way, but I'll admit I got that wrong.

did anyone notice the event warp name and lightcone name of aventurine? i know he is not very likeble right now, but i belive that he is going to get a furina moment. not in the way that he was good all along but in a way of explaining why he is acting the way he is.
the names are Gilded Imprisonment and Inherently Unjust Destiny.

Aventurine’s overall kit makes me have a bit of questions. Firstly, it’s busted that it just reapplies for every time he has the charges, but more importantly, it does bring questions on whether self-inflicted damage also applies to Aventurine’s ability. Things like Blade’s skill or Jingliu’s empowered state remove hp so while it doesn’t affect the shield, does it still count towards the ability in question (although I would likely assume it won’t).
The boss fight for Aventurine as well is very interesting. Might as well bring Argenti and have him hit all the dice like he was playing DnD.
Bran doesn't realize how significant the horn thing is. We've seen all of Mei's life when she had that HoT form....she currently no longer has that form or looks like that. SO WE KNOW HER HORNS NEVER LOOK LIKE THAT.
Also that sword ISN'T Mei's sword. That blade looks like Acheron's blade. Not to mention Welt knows Mei is on Earth teaching Valkyries. So its not the same character.
Welt is also the only character who will actually be from Hi3 because they wanted him to have more adventures since he's retired and old. The other younger characters all have shit going on in their own solar system.
There's also a reason why Welt doesn't have a character quest. He already done everything in his life, bro is just hanging out until he can get home to his kid.

1:41:52 As I recall, Genshin originally only announced 10 free pulls (in fates) for its first anniversary, then after huge amounts complaints and various other games and Google Classroom getting review bombed by angry Genshin fans, Hoyo apologised and announced they would send another 10 pulls (in primos) via mail alongside 1 copy of a teapot furniture (a big harp) and a glider that were both originally announced to be part of a paid bundle (which ended up never getting sold as a result). And people still weren't happy even after that.
The paid bundle was a gift for buying the ticket for an orchestra show iirc
I think most of my disappointment for genshin 1st anniv came from the lack of celebration happening in the game. Sure they give us free pulls (and more after the complaints lmao), sure they made a web event (I think), i don't even remember if they posted something on their twitter/youtube on the day of the anniversary. But there's just nothing happening in the game. No anniversary event, no special dialogue from characters or even just between paimon and the traveler themselves. The first anniversary felt very lackluster, like something that the dev did barely half-heartedly
I don't really remember the 2nd anniv though, I probably was just hoping for nothing at that time 😂

HSR is growing with clear improvements in each update, This 2.1 update will be great in many different ways.
I made the mistake of looking at yt chat during the stream and omg the yappers in chat complaining about yapping was so irritating. Like if u dont want to listen to them, just watch the material later and skip to the parts u care about. Some people actually want to listen to the devs talk about the design proccess.

About 1:41:52... Yeah, they did gave us 20 pulls... subtracted from the average that a update of 4.1 scope usually gives - after all, 4.0 had less pulls than it should, and they're the same kind of update, and thats because they reduced 4.0 amount on purpose (and theyre doing it again this patch btw, it has the lowest or second lowest amount of pulls since release).
While the 10 pulls is pretty much counted within the average for HSR, the extra twenty is quite past it.
Star Rail gives around 100 on updates like this (big story and new area), 90 on updates like 1.5 or 1.6 was. 2.1 is around of 120. Everything checks.
Genshin gives around 90 on patches of this same type, but in 4.0 (X.0 Patches usually give even more) they gave less, just to act as if they gave more on anniversary (pretty much they subtracted 10 from 4.0 to give it as anniversary rewards on 4.1). Then, after this its back to patches with an average of 70 pulls each, and the peak lowest, this current patch, having ~53.
Its also worth to notice it was 10 pulls on Genshin anniversary, so at the end, you were getting literally nothing... because these 10 were the 10 subtracted from the 4.0...until people started to make a war about it, and they increases it to 20.
That means the "20 EXTRA PULLS" we got was just 10... And the worst part for me:

By character leaks I meant banner leaks since it's really helpfull to plan ahead for who youre going to pull as a f2p since stellar jades are limited, that way youre less likely to spend for this game. But I also realize that saying they are necessary was a mistake, they're not but I still stand by the fact that I think those are helpful. But animation and story leaks hell nah, those just spoil and ruin the fun. So yeah ofc I understand why you disagree just wanted to correct my comment since it was badly written in the stream

the reason why they had Acheron's kit that strong was because Aventurine's kit is equally busted , he can infinitely shield and damage with followups , his skill shield is equivalent to that of gepard and his damage from follow ups are strong too making him equally good (for the endgamers and people who are trying to finish all endgame easily or abuse the SU not to mention aventurine also apparently has debuffs too (can't say for sure but did hear that)
Shame i kinda want him but I want acheron more as Im doing fine in the sustain department (luocha, queen Fu Xuan and gepard all built) and I dont have an lightning unit besides tingyun built
I really hate that many people are demanding more from HSR based on other chats I've watched in other streamers. They were expecting another 5 star when they literally just got one. I know some people are just joking but those people who's so spoiled, wanting to have more than 30 pulls is insane.

people kept arguing which game was Hoyo's favourite child, but it's pretty obvious which character was Hoyo's favourite across all their franchises
Im absolutely fine with 30 pulls as anniversary reward, coz honestly we can take the 2.0 rewards as a pre-anni reward
and that totals to 50 pulls + a limited 5* character
Also if u sum genshin 3rd anniversary + lantern rites pulls = 33 pulls
and HSR 1st anniversary = 30 pulls
2.0 + anniversary = 50 pulls and free Dr. Ratio
Like even if we compare the 2 rewards of the most importants dates for genshin, they barely gave more than HSR 1st anniversary, and dont forget, usually in gachas anni rewards increase a bit each year, so the fact that a 3rd anni has less rewards than a 1st one says a lot, considering they are from the same company but different teams.
The thing about Firefly is that, she is the most irl-ish content of the game. The character is fun & cute. Nothing fancy. Relatable. Understandable.
HSR is a game where the game's filler patches are fun AF. I was once doing a random side quest, probably thinking it will take no more than 10 mins, but then ended up not skipping a thing and did a full hour long side quest.
Such things about HSR made me love & try to understand the game better & care about characters. I love me a good story. Even if anniversary gave no reward, I would not mind. But if anniversary game less chance of being with beloved characters & story, I would be sad. HSR is a game where the game is a reward.
FF is actually a close to my heart kinda character. And realistic. BTW, the the English VA of FF is also unwell, just like FF herself in the game.
Just as how we felt towards Furina in Fontaine final arc, FF is equally beloved to many.

Bran thank you for your take on the rewards. I see so many people get so hyped about 30 pulls in HSR but somehow shit on Genshin over 20 pulls and honestly 20 over normal for both. The hypocrisy is crazy.
The reward-yield on both games always seemed fair to me. HSR releases characters faster than genshin and so it wouldn't be fair if they gave the same amount of pulls as genshin. By the time HSR reaches the same age, people would be able to get more characters but there'll also be more characters in total.

Unless Cosmodussy just gives a ton of jades... its just taking the place of a normal event. 1 flagship, 1 normal, 1 Cosmodussy. As opposed to 1 flagship and 2 or 3 normal. Patches vary on this.
The 30 pulls is only 20 pulls as far as actual anniversary rewards go. They just merged the normal 10 log in event in with 10 from the anniversary. So 20 pulls same as genshin. Except Genshin gives you more pulls per 5 star than Star Rail does so arguably this specific part is a little worse.
Its a marketing strategy. Similar vein as the "Buy this for $100 w/ $20 shipping" vs "$120, free shipping" meme and how the latter sounds better to the average person.

Star Rail releases far more 5 stars than Genshin does. Yes, Star Rail gives more pulls in general. This is because the incentive to pull is greatly increased in comparison to Genshin with more characters for you to pull. Doesn't change that the per 5 star rate is higher in Genshin.
My genshin theory is that the devs are secretly cooking up something to reveal either in natlan or in the anniversary livestream, idk 🤷

Discussing leaks, my experience of playing for 6-7 years in the Honkai series is that there are no leaks, only official releases, I and several players have leaked banner schedules,But I think that's pointless because for Honkai Impact, new character banners always take a long time

i personally am ok with Acheron being an absolute monster unit because there's already some really op characters but usually on eidolons and with the light cone made for them , the only people that i saw mad about this was people that spend a lot of money on the game because she will be op and with all the rewards for everything a lot of F2P players will have a chance of glory.

Even for f2p, just pull for whoever you want. All of my limited units are e0s0 but I can handle exploration and SU with no problem. Of course if people wanted to tackle harder moc, it's better to pull for signature and eidolon

I still find it funny how when Genshin did their anniversary and gave us around 20 free pulls, everyone and their mothers were pulling their hair, claiming how stupidly little the anniversary reward was. But when Star Rail came up with 30 free pulls (just 10 more then Genshin), a lot of Star Rail CC jumped in and titled their video "Star Rail gave INSANE rewards".

Shortly after you replied, I got up only to accidentally fall and bump my table in the most unfortunate way possible. I broke off the leg that was holding the folding part of the table up, which sent all the things flying to the floor, including my laptop, some drinks, my cat and some important papers. Now I have a table to fix, a huge sticky mess to clean up, some papers to re-do, several deep bleeding scratches all over my body, and a laptop that barely survived. I'm not even sad, it's totally what I deserved 🤣.

It doesn't seem like it's that big of a difference now but comparing HSR's first anniv. to Genshin's first anniv., Genshin was going to settle with 10 pulls until the community rioted and review bombs multiple (mostly unrelated) apps with one star reviews before they gave in and gave away the paid bundle that's supposed to be part of the Genshin Concert at the time (you buy a ticket, you get in-game stuff). Every anniversary event afterwards is just the same 20 pulls (10 by login, 1600 Primogems by mail).
HSR devs literally just threw in 20 pulls without a second thought. We didn't need to riot to get the same amount and then they just tossed another 10 on their actual release date (April 26th). There's even an anniversary event in game. Where's that in Genshin (no we don't get one lol)?
I won't argue the fact that 30 pulls for an anniversary is just an OK amount, but you also need to take into account how the game treats its playerbase. I like looking at leaks for the sake of preparing for character banners and pulls, but avoid story leaks like the plague. I got the very last scene of the 2.0 update spoiled to me. Y’know. The scene with the Trailblazer, Aventurine, and Robin. I got that spoiled to me by leaks a few hours before the update went live and it really ruined that scene for me. I wish the storyline was safe from these leaks more than anything- I really feel for the devs here. This is their passion- and to not have control over stuff like this is heartbreaking

We get more than enough to pull for 1 character and a LC per patch. I don't get why some are wanting more. Most other games don't even give you the opportunity to save enough to get a limited character in 1 patch. There's a certain point where they have to think about how to maintain sales for their game in order for the content to remain free.

Unless they further buff Acheron, Jingliu will generally be better as long as you have either Sparkle or Bronya to advance her forward.
Acheron will have pretty big team restrictions unless you have the right elements, mainly either 2 good Nihility units that synergize well or E2 Acheron, and a well built preservation unit as well as the Lightcone Trend of Universal Market (the 4 star one featuring Topaz). She also currently doesn't have a very good and easy to obtain F2P option, the best being Good Night and Sleep well, which is very good on her at S5, and tbf it is featured on her LC banner, so you could get it while attempting for her Signature.
Acheron will probably be better against Pure fiction (especially if you have Black Swan who applies debuffs on enemy entrance) and likely also tge Swarm enemies (and enemies that tend to self influct debuffs often)

I disagree with the character leaks take (and mostly agree with story leaks being bad). While I do think it's terrible from the developer's side (obviously), there's absolutely no way you can argue leaks being bad for the playerbase, unless some people specifically want to know nothing. People CAN play a game without leaks (or a roadmap) and I've done so for most of my life since I played Gatchas for a long time now, while also being F2P, but it's so much easier to not care about leaks for people who can afford to spend money if they do happen to fail getting something they really want. Tha game can obviously survive without any leaks, and obviously leaks aren't "necessary", but so are characters, no character is necessary, but that doesn't mean the develpers won't make new characters and it doesn't mean that people won't want it just because that can survive without it.
Whether you're playing for aesthetics, character writing, gameplay or meta, a small spender, dolphin or whale, can accumulate enough pulls for a certain unit(s) in the span of 1 patch and cover the rest by spending a little if they get unluky, if you add a weapon or another unit, or constellations then the spending might increse. An F2P could get extremely unlucky and not get what they want even if they save up since a character's drip marketing (and mind you, there wasn't anything like a drip marketing during the 1st few patches in Genshin), and leaks (having designs and kits early) help a person to save up, potentially preventing them to feel the need to spend if they have enough self-control to save up. Some people have very low self-control when it comes to real money, or rather cards, since you often can't see that money going away, whereas a game currency will always be visible while it decreases, nowadays it's so easy to spend using cards, so much easier than using cash, and kids/teens will find that even easier to do.
The problem about leaks, both character leaks and story leaks, is that it's so easy to stumble on them even when you don't want to come across any, which is bad, people shouldn't be spoiled against their will, and unfortunately Twitter/X has so many people sharing leaks and whatnot without proper indication or warning.
And also it really felt like they only really care about story leaks as that was what they talked about only here.
Yea I mean I appreciate if I get leaked of upcoming characters because it helps for planing ahead for our F2P friends or anyone account as well. But nowadays, leaks were way to aggresive man. Almost all animations, 2D or 3D models, skin, even multipliers, weapon details and materials were leaked like 3 patch before which again, helps preparing and pre-farming, but I do feel its a little bit too much leaks you know? Its a mess of visual and technical stuff that most people shouldn't know because it has a high chance of misinterpretation yet we know some people will take it as a bible for their life. It encourages wannabe content creators to spread potentially misinformation in this era of short-spanning attention internet people. Its like we are observing everything in the future.
What I usually like is the tame leaks. Like we are announced Acheron's gonna be playable (we all know her character model from 2.0 as well) and the leakers give hints to her "theme". For me personally, it builds up anticipation. It could flop or be the best thing ever, but I'll figure it out when she released (or near release date). Story and lore leaks are a big no no of course. Nowadays we can theorycraft everyone 3+ months before the character even came into beta test. So when they come, we already know everything about them. Like when every build and mechanics has been calculated and sorted out in advance, its just a waiting game. No point or satisfaction of figuring out character during release, testing silly build and stuff, etc. Idk man, its abit of rambling but it is what I feel personally on any modern game community that implement this approach aggressively.
I do share the sentiments that it kinda relief the gambling 'addiction' for some people though. The will of saving and waiting is strong when you already know whats gonna come or happen. But then again with the technological advance of getting ingame currency like you said, some leaks are definitely appreciated (still not necessary though, but I get the reasons). And yeah F- those twitter, youtube and insta people that shares leaks without any proper indication or warning. Limiting whats leaked, is the least we can do to get both sides (the dev and playerbase) happy.
TLDR; I accept future banners and material leaks. Personally, no story, lore, or gameplay leaks is acceptable. No multipliers, no mechanics, no technical stuff leaks (aside of what already exist in-game). It was supposed to be "Leaks". Not a damn floods breaking from the dam.
