So I’m going down this Spiritbox rabbit hole and find this comment here with such a familiar pic in the profile.. I was the drummer on the Son of the Morning album and toured with Oh Sleeper 2009-2010. Really cool to see that so many years later!!
As a 30y old metal vocalist, i am just in pure awe of your performance. I know everyone must be raving about your talent, but I can imagine the amount of passion and dedication it takes to develop this much mastery in such an otherwise extremely difficult vocal artform. when I was your age, I couldn't even sing at those tremoring lower chords that you hit like a boss. Seriously unbelievable work Harper! i am a fan and I'm really looking forward to seeing some banger work from you in the future! \m/

How the hell did that sound come from a small girl? Very brave to get on that stage with a big band and a rowdy crowd then kill it like that. Impressive. You have a very promising future, Harper. 👍🏻
AND her dad is SO supportive and proud. It gives me hope for future generations to be more accepting, more inclusive, and MORE METAL. That's the part that makes me cry. I'm a dude, and my dad was supportive enough of me, even though anything more heavy than Story of the Year, Godsmack, and Linkin Park was lost on him and he did not understand stuff like this, but it was a house divided. My mom thought it was "holler into the mic = no talent" and "devil worship = evil music; going to the lake of fire" and would shut down and that was it. Seeing parents supportive so kids can start growing artistic expression at a young age, and not need to "unlock it" with trauma is nothing shy of beautiful.
If this is the future of our scene then it’s in damn good hands. The talent and vocal control at 10 is absolutely insane. Can’t wait to see what else you do!
