This is one of my most favorite channels on RUclips. I get to see varieties of art works from the finest galleries around the world right in my living room. Love the context and the narrative. I’m glad I found your channel, Google algorithm actually works after all.

Thank you for exposing me to the work of Claire Tabouret. I love the way she paints water, sometimes as a perfect flat tone and other times as a shimmering current of reflected light. I also appreciate the way that in some paintings facial features are very refined while in others they are rendered as if in a woodblock print style giving the composition an open, dreamy style. As an artist myself, I like the thought of providing the viewer just enough information to let them finish the composition from their own imagination. I am a facilitator... the viewer is the artist.

Thank you Mary, we'd never get to see this stuff, it's like a trip out. I keep imagining a wine tray appearing like it's an opening. I watch James Kalm stuff as well so this is up my street. Love Harold Ancart and the Bonnet pieces.

I'm certainly getting the benefit (beyond art making) of your travel. I'm getting a National Geographic vib on this visit. The French galleries seem so much more down to earth, more approachable, less sterile than NYC galleries. Thank you again for your work. Your production quality is stellar. And I agree with the previous post (Zakir H)

Thank you so much for sharing. Its always exciting to see what is going on in the art World in Contemporary art - and childhood memories is often a source of deep feeling for artists and therefore also very inspiring - they are a kind of narratives of a certain interpretation and experience of existence that at the same time is cultural and yet also unique.

Getting this crazy flickering on the white walls of a lot of the galleries. Maybe florescent lights, and Europe having 50hz ac current. Filming at 25p might fix it?

Very interesting walk - but the first Gallery visit with the flat swimming pool reliefs seem a strange interpretation to me. For me they were more like relief painting - and I think they would have looked better on the walls even if they were understood as a kind of swimming pool dreaming imaginations. But absolutely interesting video walk around in some galleries but I like to see each art work in a still moment without any movement of the camera 😊

yeah as Simon has said I think they are somehow gessoed or sized since when you paint oil over an unprimed canvas the linesed oil tends to soak around the color area of the paint getting darker.

I like the pool sculptures the best. Very cool. The other stuff was ok but for me doesn't bring anything new to the table. Didn't care for the background color choices in the Elsa Sahal show and it came off as a bit gimmicky. The Brosinski show seemed like lazy copies of work by Schnabel who pretty much cornered the market on this type of thing decades ago.

All this paintings look like the works of amateurish hobby painters, not professionals. Take a look at works from Guillermo Lorca or Theresa Oaxaca for example (among others), that´s a very different level of art.

Is the disorienting flicker your idea of a kind of special effect? I am a filmmaker and painter, the camera work is disturbing for me, maybe I am too sensitive. Certainly been told that about a million times but why go to Paris, galleries and show no care for viewers trying to see art you review? It makes me feel dizzy and nauseous.

Picasso said it all in his own lifetime and even Bacon...
so to continue in this vein is contrived and senseless...hardly clever.
The potential held in the reality of photography is far more powerful,
and that is where its at...too many wannabes...seriously!
