It’s a very nice looking bike. If you are not going to make a bobber or a cafe racer, with that kind of bike I like the kind of restoration they gets the bike running well mechanically with everything working, and just cleaning the bike up so it keeps its patina that it has earned during its life. I think a 40 year old bike should look 40! Making it look brand new means you won’t want to ride it.
Nice work! I've seen this done before and guys mangle that ring so it looks terrible when they're finished. Also fun to see one of these speedometers with a reasonable top speed indicated. During the early 1980s the US Environmental Protection Agency mandated that all motorcycle speedometers should have a max reading of 85mph (137kph). The thought was it would psychologically make riders ride slower and conserve fuel. It didn't work of course and went away by the middle of the decade.
Wow! There was a lot interesting facts I had no idea about. The ring on the tachometer turned out pretty ok actually. I'm as happy as surprised about the result.
hello congratulations for this video, you did a great job, it was useful for me to understand how to open and close my speedometer, do you know which screws are those that hold the face plates? I can't find them anywhere.
Nice old bike. For its age, it doesn't seem to be in an especially bad condition cosmetically so might even polish up without requiring a paint job or a major facelift. Why not focus on just getting it to work properly and then clean it up a bit? Cheers 👍
Yeah it's in pretty good nick all over. I'll just fix the bits and bobs and buff it up. It should be a relatively easy fix. This grand old lady has earned her stripes.
Old dials just look better :) Great video! Are you just planning on cleaning up the bike and keeping it mostly standard? Are you going to seal the tacho with anything? Also I see your itchyboots card....she's awesome!
Her en link til en video jeg har her på youtube. ruclips.net/video/YxogU0mIkUI/видео.html
Hej och tack! Jag vet faktiskt inte vad det ljudet kan vara. Men jag är ingen expert heller. Jag ska kolla med en kompis som kanske kan ge svar. Cheers
Thanks for the documentation
Thank you!

I agree. That's my plan. This bike has aged with dignity and it's going to keep its well earned good looks.
Its looks better straight away with the rack and top box removed. A good clean and a service is all it needs :)
I agree. Just polish her up and fix the minor bits and bobs.

Thanks Stefano! Ihave been trying to figure out what the screws are either. Maybe write to the local Honda dealer and ask?
@@aroundonabike5028 thanks I will try to contact a Honda shop nearby, I still hope to solve this problem
