Hey The Visual Makery I Did A Second Method On How To Add Text And Copy Texture I Just Right Click On The 2D Shape And Select Edit Text Also If I Wanna Copy Without Using The Keyboard I Right Click And Clicked Copy And Pasted On The 3D Sphere
It's great that you're experimenting and trying out different things. 👍🙂 In the video at 0:35 I show how the basic Add Text method works. With long text contents, the text will look flat as we rotate the 3D sphere.
This is a great video, but for some reason, I didn't get the same result as you did and I tried twice. I am pretty sure I followed both times all instructions you gave. In the end, when I try to rotate the whole grouped thing, it seems like all the parts are rotating in different directions. Do I need your add-in to make it work? Btw. you have some awesome stuff on your channel!
😀 Thank you for watching and commenting! The trick works with standard PowerPoint formatting tools. No add-ins are required. There are several critical parts to the trick: (1) The first is applying the texture/picture fill to create the wrapped pattern on the sphere. Did this part work for you? Were you able to copy your design and use it as your picture fill for the sphere? From your description, it seems this wasn't a problem. (2) The next part is building the 2-sided sphere. It seems from your description that this is where things failed. If part #1 above worked fine, but this part failed, it's probably due to a missing element in the rig. You can compare your rig with my free reference 2-Sided 3D Sphere Rig that you can download here: visualmakery.podia.com/basic-ref-powerpoint-3d-models (it's the last file in the Advanced Reference Models section). You can apply your custom pictures/patterns/text to this rig. Please confirm that the problem is not in Part #1 above, and that it's in assembling the final rig. Please also try the ready-made rig and let me know how it goes. I'm here to help!
@@Cubiclite Thanks so much for your detailed answer. You're right, the first part is not the problem. I attached my text on both sides of the sphere and was able to see a mirrored image of it on the back when rotated. That went smoothly. I'll try recreating your steps again later and maybe will be able to make it work. In any case, I'll let you know if I spot the step that I missed or did wrong for future reference. Thanks again and stay safe and healthy! 😊
@@urbanbee7272 Try this. When you're done grouping together all 4 hemispheres, select the group, then choose one of the 3-D Rotation Presets (I like Perspective:Front).
@@urbanbee7272 i had the same problem. i fixed it with setting distance from the ground for the back hemisphere equal to the - (width/length) of the bottom bevel. hope it helps someone else.
Let me try to break it down here: (1) First, I showed how to use Picture/Texture Fill to put a design that fits on a 3D sphere made from a circle (with a Round Top and Bottom Bevel added using the 3D formatting tool). (2) The problem now is that the same design is shown in the back/second side of the sphere. And the design is flipped. (3) To put different designs in the front and back sides of the sphere, we need 2 separate circles, one for each side. (4) We turn the front circle into a 3D hemisphere by applying a Round Top Bevel. Its flat side faces the back. (5) We turn the back circle into a 3D hemisphere by applying a Round Bottom Bevel. Its flat side faces the front. (6) We need to add 2 solid-filled hemispheres to fix the see-through effect as shown in the video at 4:50. These are just duplicated shapes. (7) We group all 4 hemispheres to complete the rig. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions. All the best! 😊
Hi! I have difficulties from 4:40 min until the end of the video. I can't get one sphere with curved text on the back side. I don't understand how to do it. Thank you very much!
Thanks for clarifying. I can help walk you through the process of building the 3D sphere rig. Were you able to follow all the steps before and up to 4:40? This includes creating the "back" design. If yes, you can apply it to my ready-made 3D sphere rig. It's part of my FREE download pack (link: products.thevisualmakery.com/basic-ref-powerpoint-3d-models). I've included instructions in the PPTX file so you can create your designs and copy-&-paste them onto the front and back parts of the sphere. That can be a good first step in understanding how the rig works. Let me know if you have further questions. I'll try to explain the details of how to build the rig if you can point out which steps you're stuck at. 🙂
Hi. Thanks so much for your question. To animate the rotation as a PPT 3D object, you can use Morph transitions. I show how to do this in my video titled "Using Morph to Create a 3D Turntable Animation" (studio.ruclips.net/user/videoOvhazPcC8oI/edit). Another animation technique is using my FREE Turntable tool (studio.ruclips.net/user/videobvDnlP-dVlc/edit) to create your animation. Then you can export the animation as a GIF with a transparent background (enable the "Make background transparent" option). Finally, insert your animated GIF into your presentation. This GIF object will play in presentation mode. All the best!
@MrGMountain So the Fill step with the "Picture or texture fill" option didn't wrap the picture onto the sphere? Does the fill work at all (is anything from the clipboard showing up)? FYI, I'm also using PPT 365 for the tutorial. Can you tell me the time in the video that you're not able to replicate the step?
@@PrincessMar23 The previous person who commented did not specify the exact step that it failed for them. Can you please tell me the step in the video when you are unable to get the same result so I can help you? You can state the minutes & seconds in the video (e.g. 02:42).
