This game is basically the ultimate triumph of style over substance. This supposedly climatic moment means fuck all. Nothing is solved. No lessons learned. The hero remains vacuous. The villain is dull. It’s all just so boring and had the gameplay not been so good we would quite rightly recognize this as possibly the most hollow and pointless story told in recent memory.
Tbh, I like the lore behind it. I easily give it a pass since the game is really not story focused at all. Also, something is accomplished by killing this dude. The demons are stopped.
