You are one of my favourite personal finance and investing RUclipsrs. You perform your Canadian identity beautifully -- smart, sincere, charming, and understated. Your commitment to a research-based approach to investing is admirable, and a corrective to the abundance of poor advice in RUclips. Like Ben Felix, another exemplary Canadian voice in this "space," you demonstrate the thoughtful, calm, and circumspect approach to investing many of us need.
Learnt more from this video alone than what many RUclipsrs can possibly teach over their entire career. I found your channel about 4 months ago. Yours is the channel I always knew I wanted/needed. The best finance channel on RUclips. You are so genuine. No ulterior motives. Never promoting a stock.
Happy birthday! 🥳I've been watching your contact for years! One of the most trustworthy, honest, and worthwhile contact makers on RUclips. Thank you and keep doing you richard.
As a newcomer to Canada, I've really appreciated your (and Ben Felix's) videos that taught me how to get set up as an adult here :D A very happy birthday to you!
Hi from Ottawa as well, you and Ben Felix are killing it. Just wanted to let you know how much we all appreciate your hard work, really shows in the content and quality of discussions/topics. You had mentioned you use excel quite a lot, as someone who is also a huge fan of excel would you have any recommendations or tips for its application and use for equity research and fundamental analysis. Late to the game on the question so no worries, hope the birthday went well.
Only been watching you for a short time but loving your content. Also, would you advise making QYLD an alternate savings account? I'm wanting to retire early.
Hello @The plain bagel I was checking your videos and could not find anything about acorn/stash, can you please do a video about it?I love your videos and learn a lot. Thank you!
Hey half donut, sorry I missed it but have a happy belated birthday Question for you. As a charterholder what do you think of the recent insanely low pass rates. I received my charter earlier this year and feel so bad for the candidates with 25% L1 pass rates
@52:00 You're talking about money supply. Is it an increase when the Fed buys bonds?? They're buying an existing asset, so it's not increasing, it's swapping a bond for a Reserve. Right? And from what I've read, Reserves don't go into the real economy, they're used to settle interbank payments. So QE is some nonsense that doesn't work. Maybe? Japan introduced it and got no inflation for a long long time, and Europe + US copy, getting (surprise) the same result. Great video, are live streams a bday moment or will there be more in the future?
The poor people need to hustle since they start off at a disadvantage compared to the rest of their society. Normal people don’t need to hustle because they are given a normal life/ more advantages at the start. It's the sad and true reality...
Paused at 4:30 to comment that I really, truly appreciate that you'd say "like I said - I don't know what I'm doing," presumably while futzing about with an OBS feature. I regularly recommend your videos on a few small personal finance channels and have never posted another link to those channels without a substantial amount of equivocating. I'm only posting this comment because I think that your extreme caution towards prescriptive commentary might draw a lot of negative feedback, but that level of extreme transparency is the _only_ reason I feel comfortable sharing your content to a wider audience.
Livestream solo is hard. Marketplace APM channel with their Economics on Tap series (ruclips.net/p/PLyqnPeyY0m3U-jjNmDTouUL5mSZbAfOfA) shows you how it can be done, but they require at least three people (and they're radio professionals in their day jobs). Also, it's gives a reason for a weekly beer...

Sometimes ya gotta sift through A LOT of BS before you find a good channel like yours.
Thank you 🙏🏽 and 🖕🏽 to all those BS channels.

What social media did he ask for questions on? The colour scheme of those comments looks familiar, but I can't quite place my finger on it...
Any chance on doing a video on dual class shares and the sh*t show at Rogers?
