As usual, this video is world-class, Boomer. From the much appreciated transparency with little mistakes, to the best possible solutions - square angles using a clever jig and backstops, best glue adhesion methods, plus many more modeling gems. Who would've thought a simple model railing video could be so immensely valuable?! Thank you!
@@boomerdiorama Your use of the tube template to accurately and consistently trim the fence posts is so simple yet brilliant! That's a trick I'll be using again and again. Thanks!
Those weathered planks on the pier are absolutely amazing. You have really terrific eye. The double-sided tape is great for locating the railing, but I don't see how it can be strong enough if you don't spike it to the pier. The plastic certainly is flexible but that taped butt-joint won't hold at all.
Have you ever used a syringe to apply the resin bond, In certain applications? I found it very useful especially fusing larger sheets of styrene or plexi. Love your videos, details and methods!
Just a quick question about the siding closest to the front of the layout on glover road. I've layed the main line down and now want to put a flex track length to connect the siding at both ends. The problem is getting the curves at both ends to look uniformly the same. Any suggestions? I don't have any sectional curved track, so I'm kind of wingin it.
Using flex track as you suggest is the way to go. I just wing it, eye-ball it in. You can do a paper rub (lay paper over the first one and rub with a pencil), then cut it out. Then flip the cut-out over for the other one if you want. ;-)
Along the center of the tracks…. Could you replicate oil staining from the locomotives passing over. Looking at the thumbnail, it would make it look more realistic. In fact… you could add it everywhere you have teckage
Measure twice, cut twice. 😱 If you fix it, it is not a mistake but a reason to make sure you obey situational awareness. 👍 You have a good eye for the minutia though.
Love that loco 153. I'm faithfully watching in entirety all of the advertisements ... well, except the 5 minute infomercals .. way too long. I hope it helps you financially. Reconsider Patreon.
No. I worked on several different shuttles during a time where shuttle models in film seemed to be popular in both American and Canadian film industries. Adam is an awesome modeler!
@@boomerdiorama Interestingly, as much as I have seen of Adam, I have rarely seen him make a model from scratch. I have seen him, just infrequently. He has spoken on numerous occasions about the painstaking detail he went through creating a shuttle bay for a blockbuster movie, the movie where a bunch of retired astronauts get tasked with a mission.
In the Netherlands we say "" van de bovenste plank"". If you put this through translate, it says literally something else then what it really means. See you next time! Cheers
Where else on RUclips do you get modelling tips like these? Nowhere else…. that’s the answer 😁
Enjoy! ;-)
all these little "tweets" make it pop really enjoy watching you ,you are inspirational and make it look so easy thanks
Thanks so much 😊
Just another WOW!
I surprised myself actually. ;-)
Every time I have doubts I'm blown away at the reality. That wood deck looks amazingly real!
Thank you!

The wood deck on the barge slip looks so real.
Plastic is great with a little paint. ;-)

It looks so much like wood without all the de-fuzzing.
Great story and absolutely phenomenal video!

Excellent vid!!👌👍 Thank you so much. Look forward to more!😁👍👏

It's not the tape Randy. The tape was to cover against paint. The beam is fused to the deck with solvent. It's never coming off. ;-) Cheers.
Amazing job! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
You always have some awesome tips and tricks. The deck looks great.
Thanks a bunch!
Gettimng there is half the fun
Yes indeed!
😊
;-) Cheers Randy!😁

Yes I have.
There are no mistakes in model railroading, just happy little accidents...
Yes! . . . most certainly indeed. Cheers.

Yes. I will revisit the deck surface later. I like to let clear coats cure for a week or so. ;-)
