The woman interviewing Shapiro is right. Conservatives are not funny because they have no sense of humor. What's funny to a conservative is watching poor people pushed down even further, making fun of disabled people (as Trump did while his Trumpoids cheered), watching rich people win over working people,etc. The reason Charlie Chaplin became a big comedy star is because he played the little man defeating the rich man or the cop. Had he approached comedy in the other direction - the conservative direction - he would have been considered the villain. That's why conservatives are not funny.

I love the fact that it has never crossed Ben Shapiro's mind that the reason people in Hollywood are generally liberal is that to make it in Hollywood almost without exception requires years of financial struggle and living in a city surrounded by institutional racism, abject poverty and homelessness. It's incredibly hard to see the ways our society has failed the most vulnerable populations on a daily basis and maintain the conservative mentality of "Everything I believe in is to protect and serve myself and my things."
