OpenBVE NYC Subway "Parallel Reality K and T Line 2008"

- Observations: The line operates from Abingdon Square in Manhattan, through LaGuardia Airport Queens to Pelham Bay Bronx. This is a very busy route as the line travels through highly populated neighborhoods and communities within the NYC metropolitan area. It is considered the 2nd heaviest line compared to the Lexington Avenue Line which is the heaviest line in the MTA.
Fleet: We can see that the R44 subway cars have been maintained in top condition without any cosmetic changes from its original delivery and have been assigned to "T" express service. R30 and R32 subway cars however have gone through overhaul, these have been assigned to Local "K" service.
This line does not have any NTTs running on it even though it is already the year 2008 in this parallel reality, we can assume that maintenance of old subway cars was successful and NTTs if any may be running on the other lines of this subway system.
The construction of this line was probably very costly, the elevated stations in Manhattan seem renovated, while the subway section appears much older going into Queens. Express tracks can be seen in the 34 Street section of this line, but it is unknown what line if any utilize these tracks. The latter part of the route right before and going into LaGuardia Airport station appears much more modern, we can deduce this portion of the line was built much later, especially the section that travels under Rikers Island and into the Bronx since the city would most likely not allow a tunnel to be built under an island that served as a prison island for obvious reasons. Since the correctional facility was closed in 1995 (in this parallel reality) we can assume that construction of the last portion of the line took place right after and happened fairly quickly, even though the underwater tubes going through the island and into the Bronx must have been an extraordinary engineering feat.
Special thanks to:
@xpresssignage for the R44
Bve Fictional & Pre NYCTA for the R30

The thought of a revival of elevated lines in manhattan is very cool, nice video 👍👏
@@Astrochorius It would definitely be something I’d love to see! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
I like the spooky vibe the route and video has to it. The music and the dark sky, it makes it mysterious. It looks really good!
@@r62a_fan I’m glad you enjoyed watching! Thank you!
Oh wow, this is really weird. I love the effort put into every station, it really does feel like the lines have been lived in for decades already. Would love to see a map accompanying this!
@@overly7997 I’m glad you enjoyed the experience! I actually considered making a map but I was not able to learn how to make one in time sadly 😅
This looks nice!

Amazing
@@BMTEnjoyer160 I’m glad you enjoyed the experience!
Thanks
Got yourself a new sub btw!
@@overly7997 Thank you for the sub! I hope you enjoy the videos here and the ones coming soon!
nice video tho but have question what font you sed for this video because I need a download version of the standard font.
@@8kgmatt The font is called NYCTA standard, glad you enjoyed the video!
@@daveduce yeah that's not free font download tho and idk how you got able to download for free.
@@8kgmatt ahh I have to check, I remember searching everywhere and finally finding it but I don’t remember the website, it must have been through a Reddit link or something.
The K & T lines are running along 8th Avenue or 9th?
@@serenityrail the T line runs crosstown on 34th street into queens, so it goes across all the avenues in Manhattan, the K line only runs in Queens and the Bronx making local stops while the T runs express.
@ Considering the route and the areas that it serves, MTA should most definitely look into creating this service. I love the amount of detail you put into the route👍🏽
@@serenityrail I only edited some signs and stuff this route was originally a V line made by openbveconnect ☺️
My mind had me thinking this was roblox for some reason.
where i can get that route?
@@Santiago-lb5md the website that has the original route has been down for some time sadly
@@daveducedamn what a shame :(
Wow, this looks like Roblox
@@TheCTANYC With some good textures, backgrounds and shaders openbve can really come alive!
Indeed @@daveduce. In fact at one point there was a game called Parrelel Reality on Roblox! It was indeed based on the NYC subway on the T line like in one of your videos. It's closed now however because of issues with the owner.
@@BigBoy_Thegamer Oh wow that sounds interesting! It is truly a shame that it is gone, are there any videos of what it looked like online?
Hi i dont want to be that guy but can i ask for a downlaod for the route? 😅 No problem if its private
@@atrobloxtrainspotter It’s not private at all! It used to be available on the Openbveconnect website, but the site has been down for some time, it used to be a fictional V line but I made some changes like the signage, sky backgrounds, removed some static trains and added lighting that used to be off in the original route. I’ll see if I can make a link for it, I’ll let you know!
