An electrical once showed me that he could make these with job site trimmings about 10 years ago. I decided to try it myself about the time of this video, not sure if it’s an exact replica, but it’s pretty close and lots of fun.

What gauge wire and how long should the wires be?

    • @odemoura
      @odemoura 3 года назад

Gage 20 or 24 wire will do it. The length could be 5" and you will trim it in the end.

Cool video, thanks. I have a bunch of wire and it's to cold to do stuff outside. Might as well head to the basement and give it a try. :)

I have made about 8 larger ones now...ten if you include the two I gifted away. Had a though....make a bunch of simple/tiny ones, and glue them to the back of an XL one...mama and babies

what do you do with the pieces of wire you snip? do you keep them to add finer detail to other pieces, or do you just throw them away?

Tonic Ascent - I discard, but if you want to add more detail, go for it

Painting several black with a mix of filler, pva glue and acrilyc paint will provide perfect details for a scifi diorama purely for their size.(and hide the wires)
Guess i found the monsters for the forest scenes, now waiting game for the T-72 and Terminator ranks to arrive in the hobby shop.

StalkeraBg - that sounds incredible, post a link to show me, if possible

      Jawsh Lite
Sadly i cant as i have no idea how to use Imgur ..Basically for details it will be if you want complete cover or just added shine with few closed gaps.. PvA glue is transparent and if lucky, filler may be too,so paint will need to be very well absorbed
Or dilute an acrylic paint in an air brush or the paint gun and spray it in that dried (or make the mix, and put invisible glow in the dark paint before making a clear coat from resin by a dropper
As for the dioramas, some make trees with wires and natural mats
      And tanks ?
Eh i buy from local shop, but usually ebay/amazon have em for 10-20% randomly, ill get 3 1:72 and another 1:35 and thats that
Will proly kill half of my teacher salary if i try to make a large scene

random user - 18 gauge at 6in/15cm long

random user - 12x6”=72” and there will be excess for error. If you plan on making a lot, find out where you can take some length off after the first one. You could probably make these pretty easy with 5” lengths, but I like the extra room to make bending easier

random user - yes, longer for larger wire, I’ve made one from 10 gauge before and it’s huge. Needed 18” or so per strand
