    This is a video on the first test run of the 2 1/4" x 3" Jaw Crusher from 911 Metallurgist. For this run I used one full 15" pan or ore from the Blue Chip mine. I ran the rock through the rock crusher 3 times each time getting smaller crush. The final crush was almost completely sub 16 mesh. And even though I was not expecting it from this ore, I found some gold when I panned out the crush.
    Dave has many rock crushers as well as all sorts of other mining equipment on his website at: www.911MPE.com

    Great video Dan. The self feeding hopper idea was brilliant. I'm sure the 911 folks were paying close attention.

      Surely a Canada dollar is about the same as the Aussie? The rest would be shipping which everyone has to pay.

    Dan could you add 2 L brackets to bottom side, set your seive on it and let the machines vibration seive it for you automatically?

    Hi Dan I wonder if a 1/8 grinder cut with a Zip cut wheel 1 " up the side from the bottom to the bottom lower corner of the anvil will keep the gravels pulling down to the corner, Or using a mig welder do a cold lap weld on an angle gives the anvil a sharp edge to holding the rock down .Nice pieces .

    In several of your videos, your home seemed to be in a rural area. Was I just misreading the area or do you also have a home in a more hilly or mountainous area?

    Dan you need to keep that crushed rock for leaching. There is safe ways out there to leach it right in a 5 gallon bucket.
    It is safe, for home use. Not the old way there are new ways. There is more gold in that ore, proven by the stuff you got out in the solid metal form.

    I'd be tempted to build a hopper feeder that comes off at an angle so there's no chance that it could kick back shards straight out.
    Nice little picker there.. haven't found one anywhere that big yet at the Bear River, need to find a better source.

    used to run a jaw crusher at an assay lab.Are the plates removable? wavy plate may also help with the softer material. Be a nice little machine to bring along prospecting! sure it would not take much to run with gas powered engine.

    Nice little machine. Had no idea you put twigs through it too. Maybe it could be a wood chipper at the same time? XD
    I wonder how much use a little dial for different gauges would be?

    How bad was the smoke from the fires up there? It was bad enough here in Seattle that your eyes would burn , couple that with the heat wave we had and it was rough here, i imagine it was unbearable up there. I hope you and yours are all well. Did any of your claims burn?

    3:55 sounds like a bad compromise in that you'll get a slower crush. I'd just use a tamping tool for the soft rocks,.
    Would you say the gold pieces come out better than an impact mill like jeff williams often uses?

    • @Danhurd
      @Danhurd  6 лет назад

      I use an impact mill as well. They tend to ball up the gold. The jaw crusher leaves it more natural but is much slower.
