Hannah Paley here’s the sad part, her Southampton dock is very dangerous and can fall apart at any moment thanks to the moving during ww2, so it’s off limits, which is a shame. Thankfully Olympic’s Berth in Southampton is up and running!
I mean it's better to go where she started her journey Belfast Ireland There is even the things that built her that's there (Yo my mum went in 2012 I haven't been)
@@Aelvir114 Well what you said is wrong Titanic's berth which is Berth 44 in Southampton is still being used but not for Cruise Ships. Berth 44 is being used to load & unload shipping containers from barges. I have seen that from doing transatlantic crossings aboard the Queen Mary 2
Actually, truth be told, the RMS Carpathia was pronounced with a long "A". It is a British ship, hence the "Royal Mail Steamer" title. I felt the same when I kept hearing it but when we Americans pronounce the long A, it sounds to us like we're making fun of it. Think of Tomatoes (Tomahhtoes) or the word Bath (Bahhhth). Another set of words are: Can't (Cahhhn't) and Ashtray (Ahhshtray). Our American language truly should earn it's own right to be called American. The entire eastern seaboard couldn't get the name of the Boston team right and after years and years of trying to correct the masses, they just let it go and generations later, we still call them the Boston Celtics (SELLtics) instead of their accurate name.
@@rci30 I'm not sure of the history of the Boston Celtics, and while it's true that Celtic is indeed pronunced 'Kell-tic' the famous Glasgow Football (soccer) Club is pronounced 'Cell-tic' and always has been for as long as I can remember, and I'm from Ireland. However the narrator was pronuncing Carpathia wrong.
You can just imagine how the people who were waiting for their loved ones to return from the Titanic only to find out that they'll never see them again when it sunk
The Pier 59 turned into Gold Driving Acre? Never knew how it currently looks like. By the way, I thought there had been remained unchanged or replaced as sightseeing attraction for visitor! Right away, May those deceased souls who tragically passed away of RMS Titanic Collision rest in place.
It must have been eerie to see the Olympic arrive after Titantic had never made it. They were sister ships so could they imagine the Titantic if it had made it to New York! So so sad to arrive to New York the Carpathia with so many lost!
Matt Lorentz it’s definitely pronounced Car-PAY-Thia due to Cunard line’s other ship names. You pronounce Mauretania as Maure-*TAIN*-ia same goes for Lusitania
Pier 54 where the RMS CARPATHIA dropped off the Titanic survivors at on April 1912, this same Pier 54 would be the last docking of RMS LUSITANIA about 3 years later she would be torpedoed days later on the southern coast of Ireland on May 7th 1915. Both TITANIC and LUSITANIA will never be forgotten as “Our Lost Liners of Pier 54”.

They went first to 59 - the White Star pier - to offload the empty Titanic lifeboats. They needed them out of the way to more easily dock and offload people.

No the Titanic was due to dock at pier 59 as it was owned by White Star the Carpathia pull in to Cunard’s pier 54 which later became Cunard and White Star’s pier after the merger
Not just Titanic. Pier 59 was also the pier her amazing sister Olympic sailed to and from. 👍🏻
I can’t believe the dock where Titanic was supposed to dock is still there!! That’s amazing 😉!!

Aelvir that is fake news. Modern cruise ships regularly depart from titanic’s berth in Southampton.
If only if didn’t hit the the iceberg n eventually would retire n be placed there as a NYC landmark

Watching this video a couple days after the titan tragedy. R.I.P, P.H.
Crazy looking back at this his fate would be on route to the titanic
Someone should have told him how to pronounce "Carpathia".
Rick aka Shock Shockey you can say it either way?

1,496 People died, out of the 2,208 on board.
That Nargeolet guy just died in the Titan sub. wow.
Crazy, the guy they were talking to in this video, died in the Titan sub. P.H. Nargeolet... RIP..

Ghostbusters II had a scene where Titanic finally did dock, though not at the pier she was supposed to dock at.

Can we go back in time n stop the titanic from hitting the iceberg?
slapshot68 yea and also risking to be targeted in ww1
COOLGAMINGSHOW world war 1 was 2 years after the titanic sunk...
COOLGAMINGSHOW I would bet anything that I bet people would have wanted titanic been a target then an accident
StuartTheIbXFan ww1 started 2 years after it sunk there would be a higher chance if they want to continue the titanic
He means if Titanic hadnt hit the iceberg, there was still the chance of it being sunk in WW1 like the Britannic or Lusitania

Omg The way he said Carpathia
If Titanic 2 ever arrives I wonder where she will berth?
Hopefully when the RMS Titanic 2 is built and released, it will pick up where the RMS Titanic 1 left off.
Titanic 2 is on a lake in China, completely landlocked. Unfortunately, she wont be travelling very far.
@@alexburt6995 the titanic 2 is set to follow the originals route
There will be 2 ships, one a hotel, and one completely functional ship
That’s honestly cool yet sad how The Mighty Titanic didn’t her final destination which we pass by almost every day

Why could we not make this a Museum and a memorial site for those who lost family and friends?
Sad to see all of those historic piers rotting away or used for some corporate bullshit. A fucking driving range.....? Seriously?

none of this was meant to be Titanic was suppose to dock Tuesday the 17th 1912

I imagine the super rich people from the Titanic got on the Carpathia and immediately started complaining about stuff
Why are they doing some sort of renovation? It should be preserved and rebuilt to what it was!
one of these days Titanic is going to come home when you least expect it it will be their!
Jay Leslie what kind of malarky is that
Now I am remembering the Ghostbusters 2 scene where Titanic showed up
Their what?
not pier 59 it was peir 54. The gate of white star / cunard line is still there.
54 was cunards pier 59 was white stars, the companies merged in 1934 and pier 54 became the pier of the combined company
Pier 54 was where the Carpathia delivered the survivors. The Lusitania set sail from there on her final voyage.

Dive the wreck of Titanic? Gone down in a submersible you mean.
Why does pier 59 look so empty it’s just a piece of rust gate and nothing else with a sign that will stop being visible soon
