Excellent. There are other videos on YT but they're unclear and in a few cases a bit uncritical & gushy so I'm definitely looking forward to your flight test! It's so nice to have a proper review from someone who knows what they're doing.
That looks really nicely made ... great attention to detail. I would probably put the ailerons on separate channels and use a spoileron mix (both raised together) for landing - this works really well on an old 1.6m warmliner that I have.
Thank you Andrew for the vdeo maiden of that Lightning glider. Could be quite interesting on the slope. Small enough to put in the car without dismantling. Lunch time flyer by the looks of it. Festive greetings Go With the Flow Bruce
I have the 1200 mm EDF version of this plane which I like very much. The EDF Swift and Lighting share the same fuselage. Very high quality dense foam, very well reinforced and excellent design. Set it up with flaperons which work well and I am certain would work well on the Lightning. I have learned, from Top RC Hobby, there is a version 2 of the Lightening which will be available. I intend to order two as soon as these are available again.
Did some reading till I had a decently clear answer: I recently finished up a Northeast Sailplane Products(NSP)/FVK Elektron 400 with Ailerons [ www.nesail.com/electron400ail.html ], and wanted to set it up with pop-up ailerons as spoilers. The Elektron has a separate micro servo installed in each wing, a setup that is fairly common for both sailplanes and large power planes. With each servo driving only one aileron, the control surfaces can move in opposite directions for aileron control, or both in the same direction (UP) to act as spoilers. The combined function from a single set of surfaces is known as spoilerons.
I did some reading to make sure warm was not referring to much more than speed. Hotliner is faster. So is there a cold liner. Ha ha. Is that a non powered sail plane.
Got 3 planes from Santa this year ... ranger 1600, walrus ... and keyi uav hero ... and a sailing boat. Much competition for my mavic pro 2 and spark ahead.
Word of warning Andrew I flew my century UK version 3 times and it tip stalled every flight with no warning and no way to recover it. Third time was so bad it ended up in the bin. Never again!!
I flew my TopRc/MaxThrust lightning today for the first time on slope 😊 I pushed the Cg way back and was flying in 10-12 mph wind. Had a blast but it seemed to tipstall very easily. When you slope this glider whats your Cg. Im running a 4's 1800 mah bat and all my throws are pretty much maxed out and beyond in high rate lol... My buddies Volantex Phoenix S 1600 was hanging nicely and very stable. Am I missing something or are they two very different gliders... Thank you! Today was both of ours first time sloping and it was awesome!
Yes sloping is the best! They are very different gliders. Lightning is built for speed and strong wind, maybe your CG and throws were too much. Phoenix 1600 is a great all rounder. Can't recall my CG, probably just on the marks if there are any.
Hi Andrew, That L@@Ks Like A Knock Off Of My Conscendo S+ Or The Calypso, It's Just A Bit Smaller, Less Motor/ESC Plus They Both Have BIG Flaps & AS3X636s Stabilization Also... LOL Thanks Mate... I Wanna See Her Fly...
Hi Andrew. Did yours come with a rates call out in the manual? Mine is the "max thrust" variant and the manual just says to basically slap it together and throw it 😂
Can't wait for your flight test. Great video as usual.
Thanks Chris
she looks quick, can't wait for the flight
It's a beauty
I love fast gliders! I will be waiting for the flight video.
Video up soon Ali, it's a very nice flier
I probably would have bought one of these a while ago but they were not in stock. Can't wait to see it at the slope!
Just back from sloping in 15kn. It's very fast and fun
My friend Doug had one and it was very similar to the ST Model Blaze. You'll enjoy that one on the slope
Yep it's a quick one, tried it out today. Vey nice. Happy Christmas Andrew
@@AndrewNewton Happy Christmas to you and your family Andrew
Man that all flying tail-plane looks as if it will not need too much movement to create some spectacular results. Happy Xmas to you all.
It works very well. Happy Christmas to you too Bob
That looks fast, can't wait for the maiden and to here what you think of this plane.
Excellent. There are other videos on YT but they're unclear and in a few cases a bit uncritical & gushy so I'm definitely looking forward to your flight test!
It's so nice to have a proper review from someone who knows what they're doing.
More to come soon, thanks LoC
Can't believe they put a full flying elevator on it, that's nuts... Can't wait for the maiden, looks like excellent value for AU$!

Oops ... missed the comment below!
It looks fast just standing still. Happy Holidays.
It does. Happy everything!
Beautiful aircraft should fly beautifully! Thanks for good review!
Sure does Roman, video up soon
Excited about this one - been fascinated by 'warmliners' for a while! 👍🏼
Not super fast 120kph top speed on 4S but it I'll try a bigger prop. Flies beautifully.
Looks nicely designed and made Andrew....The symmetrical wing section should make launching a little more demanding...
Rev it up, decent throw and all is good. Have a happy christmas ET and thanks for all your comments, much appreciated

Good for a quick thrill.

Oh, looking forward to the V2
Thanks for sharing this video . Enjoy for flight videos also.
I still do not own a fixedwing but do enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!
looking forward to the maiden, wonder if its as quick as the Excalibur
No, needs a bigger prop to compete but it is a very sweet glider
New 2100mm version out, looks nice
Hello! Do you have a link?
Dear Andrew, wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year, from Ash
Same to you Ash. happy flying
I was looking at one Andrew waiting for the maiden to see what you think.
It's very impressive Kevin, not the fastest plane around but a great flier
Looks nice Andrew, I guess you may need some spoilerons setup to slow things down to land. :)
Post maiden - Programming them in right now. Lovely fast glider, takes the full field to land!!
@@AndrewNewton so you have the ailerons deflect down for that right? The mad tinker

Thanks Anton, me too

So is there a cold liner. Ha ha.
Is that a non powered sail plane.
Funny the fastest rc planes on the planet have no motors. Clocking speeds over 500 mph.
@@JamesHurd That is some humorous irony.
Looks like a good.model
If u haven't got a durafly Excalibur yet get one there excellent I love mine
One of my flying friends has one, it is impressive

Good haul, tha will keep you busy. Wouldn't mind an RC yacht myself

Thanks Kevin, I saw your other comment. I will keep an eye on it.
Is this going to make a good slower Andrew? Merry Christmas from NZ
Thanks Peter, I knew what you meant
Looks sweet mate, how much au coin? Cheers

@@AndrewNewton Thanks!
The banggood Lightning is listed as the 4S one (850kV, not 1150kV). Is yours the same?
I have the same question.
Mine seems to be the 4S 850kV but it says 1150kV on the box. Only pulling 20A max on 4S
Thank you very much for the feedback, looking forward for the maiden flight!! Cheers!!!

Andrew, tech question for you...would you say there is room to fiit both a Flysky FS6B RX plus an eagletree guardian in this model?
What size is the Eagle Tree?
@@AndrewNewton at a guess i would say around 40x25x 10mm, near enough same size as the flysky RX
just googled it, 41x22x11mm so a good guess
@@julianhumphrey4843 Yes, plenty of space under the wing for Rx and FCB. Sounds like an interesting idea!
Hi Andrew. Did yours come with a rates call out in the manual? Mine is the "max thrust" variant and the manual just says to basically slap it together and throw it 😂
I'll look for the manual
Nothing in the manual about rates.
@@AndrewNewton thanks for looking for me 😊 should be an interesting maiden
It's very well behaved Ben, no surprises at all when I maidened mine.
Cant find these, are they discontinued?
Might be. Pity because it's a superior model
Hallo i wish you a very good and happy new year 2019 and many planes to make greetings and to test many more salvatore
