Finding old relics metal detecting is great but this is why i love the woods

The old New England woods are loaded with old deserted farms going back hundreds of years. It is great digging up and finding relics but this is why I love being out in the forests of NH. The history, the rock walls, the old abandoned roads and overgrown farm fields. I love seeing where people changed the land farming and building their farms. Going all the way back to the colonial days and well into the 1800s you can see it everywhere. You can find the cellar holes where the house stood and imagine what it was like here back then. Metal detecting and relic hunting old places is the best way to spend the day.
