  • The SOG unit is a retrofit kit which removes the need to use chemicals with a caravan or motorhome Thetford cassette. This video runs through an amateur install of a unit with a C200 type cassette on a 2001 Hymer B544 motorhome. Please see ourtour.co.uk for more information!

K Hewett life twists and turns hey! I never thought I'd find myself, sporting a scruffy beard and recording the install of something attached to the toilet on a campervan. Nevertheless, here I am! :-)

great video, very useful for upcoming installation. was the 38mm hole saw correct size, or 36 be better?

Good vid Jason, I did chuckle when you said you were just going to chuck the outside cover on where it looked right, I thought it was just me that did that. I did wonder when you were connecting wires whether Hymer had gone to the international standard of brown being live and blue Earth, but no, it's still the same as the older ones !!! You'll never do anything now without a multimeter

Crichie C yeah, looked OK there, jobsa goodun! There was something about it being 5mm from the edge, but there wasn't any reasoning I could see. It's on an working fine though - had some use this weekend. That multi-meter is coming with us! Cheers, Jay

Question: my instructions say remove a flate plate in the bottom of the hatch on which the casset sits on top, which is something to do with prrssure release. It is a plate that has a sump under it and i cant see how it realates.

Is the cap with the keyring on a positive fit.
I am thinking of weight of contents when moving about to empty?

Any regrets with the SOG system?

None Philip - it works very well - the microswitch died recently but I easily swapped it for a new one. When it wasn't working we VERY quickly noticed how good it is (when working) at keeping the smell down to almost nothing. Cheers, Jay

OurTour Blog just had one installed on mine too. Do you still use chemicals? I am. I don’t seem to get a whiff of chemicals now when opening the toilet flap.

@@carlyndolphin nope, we don't use any chemicals in the loo with the SOG. We carry some blue in case it fails, but haven't found there is any need for chemicals while the SOG is working normally. Cheers, Jay
