@@mikejohnson5900 Whenever you encounter high altitudes like this you must breathe pure oxygen for an hour beforehand to purge all of the nitrogen out of the bloodstream. Nitrogen can cause problems at high altitudes.
@@guitarsarelikestupid7200 I did not know this. Would it be like Nitrogen narcosis? Also, if the cabin is pressurized wouldn't that help? Thanks for your reply!
@@mikejohnson5900 Nitrogen narcosis is different. That happens when you breathe air (which contains nitrogen) under pressure. The nitrogen causes a narcotic effect which increases in severity with depth (or pressure). Returning to the topic of the pressure suit; the cabin is not strong enough to hold sea level pressure so, even though the cabin would be pressurized it would only be able to, for example, hold the equivalent of about 30,000 feet [?] of pressure when the U-2 is at its max altitude. Let me put it this way; airliners normally hold a cabin pressure equivalent of around 6000 feet when flying at their service ceiling. The pressure suit, while it would be overkill using it in an airliner, would keep you alive in the altitudes the U-2 (or SR-71 and other high-flying aircraft) flies at.

I have to say it again, it’s amazing how fast it can get airborne!!!
She need a lot of body guard too... nice Show
Such an awesome overpowered and loud beast, imagine the sound it made with the old j57s
such a beautiful, amazing aircraft. awesome videography.
At least the pilot didn't have to put on the pressure suit and pre-breathe for an hour before flying.
Pre-breathe?

Man, i would have loved to see and hear a U-2. I bet it was loud as hell on takeoff.
Always a Treat . . .
Why not design and retrofit retractable outriggers, similar to AV-8B.
@8:43 they are literally lifting the wing. LoL
