- Mark Bryant talks through his tips, tactics and observations that will help you catch more carp this spring. Understanding the carp's body clock is really important, it's often the key to location and catch rates. Mark's tips will hopefully help you "Blank Less and Bank More" carp as we move into the spring.
Good work Mark, I've forgotten what a carp looks like! Won't be long until my overnighters start 🙂. All the best.
Not the only one mate

@@BaitworksTV your more then welcome and that's great thanks so much! Kind regards Marcus 🎣
So it's March 12th. And for some God awful reason my mate has said fishing tomorrow. Not been for over a year, so I've dusted off the gear. It's been a frosty week last week, rained the last few days and tomorrow's forecast is dry 13c with lightish winds. I'm not holding out much hope but looking at this has got me in the mood. 🐟🐟🐟
Update, got to the lake for 7am ready for the gates to open. Did a quick walk around the water. Lots of chop and very overcast. Found a somewhat shallow spot out of the wind with overhanging trees with signs of movement... Looked promising, followed the tips... Blanked! At 4:30 got kicked off the lake because the gates where getting closed at 5pm...just as the fish started to show. Spent 10 hours freezing in cold winds spending £24 on a day ticket for a 2 rod limit + bait because you could only use the fisheries own brand sold on site. I know it's early spring... But I won't be going back there!
10/10 Just genuine and useful information. No upsell bul?hit Thank you @Baitworks

Always a excellent excellent informative video.
Mark,
this is Kevin Wasilewski from Rhode Island. You got together several times with my brother, Steve, and I around 20 years ago.
You even put on a boilie making demonstration on my stove for a bunch of my friends. If i had known you would have blossomed into THE Mark Bryant, i would have had you autograph my stovetop.
Man, you are a legend. I found this channel a few hours ago and it is something awesome. Thank you.

Hi mate im after some advice i have just joined a lake thats has been there over 30 years but never been heavily fished and the owners say its just thrived on natural food there is carp upto 30lbs plus.
Just wondering how would you approach such a situation.
I fished it this weekend with my usual bait and tactics just to see how it fished amd i blanked 🤣 going back down next week to have another go any tips and advice greatly appreciated
I'm sure a steady little bit of pre baiting will help mate. How many fish are you fishing for?
@@BaitworksTV hoping for as many as i can catch to be honest 🤣 but i know its goin to he hard they told us it was an hard lake im hoping it can help me progress my carping by it being an hard lake.
@@imanishay hi mate, I’ve been trying recently on a wild ish/hard lake. I know there is this one fish on there of a decent size and although I’ve blanked so far I think the general tips are: pre bait plenty in what look like good spots, and just keep the bait going in before your sessions. And then look for any signs, even when you’re fishing have a proper look for a bubble, swirl, bosh etc. Also right now loads of carp up in the water column so get some bread going
Some great tips there, I’m back fishing tomorrow after a 7 year absence. Going to try what you’ve said here.
Will try strawberry Boilies and a pva bait bag.
Should I increase the size of the bait bag now we’re mid April or just keep it small?
In bags I prefer small items mate ;)
私は日本人です。私は日本でも鯉を良く釣ります。引きが強く他の魚とまた違う楽しさがあります。日本は鯉が沢山います。是非日本に釣りに来てください
Great video mark thank you. Is it OK to prebait spots with say 10 spombs of particle ? I won't be fishing it for a few weeks yet. My plan was to do this to clear the areas with particle then introduce Royal Marine and Monster Red in small amounts say 30 baits per spot. It will be April by the time I fish it overnight. Thank you.
Sure mate, pre baiting is a great tactic. I always air on the side of caution if I've not been baiting all through the winter in terms of volumes of bait. Finding an areas the carp a visiting and trickling a bit in, in advance will certainly help. All the best
@@BaitworksTV Thanks Mark. It's a lake in Cambridge of 18 acres with a stock of around 50 carp. Ive found some nice areas to bait so will see how I get on thanks for your reply mate.
top video and information as always, when and if you find the fish and start applying bait in the spring would you recommended a fishmeal based boilie or something with a sweeter taste
Hi Andy, a good quality bait comes in many forms mate but as long as it contains, good, quality ingredients your onto a winner. However I do prefer a good quality fishmeal myself. All the best.
thanks for reply only 1 bait company for me that does that,so best get myself ordering some royal marine although i find it hard to steer away from cremino as it has not failed me in my last 3 sessions 👍
🔥🔥
Hi just found the channel, great content, I have a question, on your rig instructions you use a "small piece of silicone to hold the "hair" in place, what product do you use as I cant find anything that small a diameter. Cheers
Hi John, it's simple silicone in 0.75mm mate, cheers
@@BaitworksTV Cool and thanks but can only find 3mm on line, can you let me know a supplier Cheers
@@johnsaundersorsam Ive used ESP and Korda's 0.75mm silicone tube in the past mate , eBay or a google search will sort you out mate.

Do you know a good % of liquid attractant for groundbait mixes? Or any videos on how to add liquid attractant for groundbait mixes?
It depends on the ground bait mate, but you want it to be damp, not saturated so it binds well enough to use.
@@BaitworksTV so you add it to each bag after mixing groundbait and not to the mass of groundbait itself?
@@forktailedDevilP-38J91 Have a look at something like this this might help mate - ruclips.net/video/h7ox1lBo_Bg/видео.html
I fish for carp in this little river next to my house. It is only about 10 meters wide and 4 feet deep. There is also a little bend in the river where it gets 2 x wider and where a shallow flat has formed. Where would you find the carp?
Look for the slacker areas mate or any snaggy trees, thats a good starting point and pre bait for a few weeks, that will certainly help.
Thank you!
👍
Is it too early to surface fish?
no. not at all, I know a few that have caught surface fish already this year. It's never to early if they are up in the layers mate.
Pretty sure south facing is where u get most sun, not the "North facing bank"
Zigs on a slow slow pace river?
Never tried them mate but I'd they are not needed as most rivers are dictated by the flow and the fish react to that more than anything.
My spring tip, vote this government out so we can go bloody fishing
Who you going to vote in ?
Labour want stronger restrictions.
Angling pressure has been low????.......not round here 😂
my local is fully booked for the next 4 months lol
