HOOT HOOT! At last, the episode everyone thought would be "filler," but was actually three major plot episodes in one and, in my opinion, the best episode of the show so far!
@@DanGamingFan2406 As a certain crab-obsessed lunatic once said in his video mocking everyone who called the episode filler: You dumb f***ing cretins, you f***ing idiots, absolute f***ing buffoons, f*** you. P.S. His favorite character is also Hooty.
This episode was the ultimate curve ball for the fandom, back when the titles were revealed almost everyone dismissed it as a filler episode, but what we saw in the end was one of the most packed episodes with a lot of character developement and everyone loved it, easily one of the best episodes of the 2nd season
I know I’m a bit late but I wanna explain the dream sequence. So, that entire scene with Eda as the Owl Beast getting captured and then escaping, that was actually an explanation on how the Owl Beast curse came to be. Apparently the Owl Beast was a real creature, who was being hunted down by this hooded figure (not spoiling who that boy is tho) and, after presumably escaping his net, was turned into a scroll that was then found by that dude on the beach. This explains why the Owl Beast is sort of like it’s own being in Eda’s mind
i actually wasn't a big fan of lumity before mikey made me understand how well-paced and earned it is. one thing i will always like about this ship though, is how luz and amity's lack of confidence and experience makes it so natural and unique.
Id say even more unique is how how healthy and supportive their relationship is depicted after this. So many fictional couples are shown, even in kids shows, as unhealthy just to mine cheap drama. its refreshing seeing a healthy relationship for once.
@@V1ctorTrophies Agreed! That was actually friends to lovers going as far as the crew wasn't going to do it until during production, they realised the chemistry they have
@@lordtoomas I don't think they will be able to top the unbridled spirit of this episode tbh. This is what the Owl house is all about: Growth and connections. The season 3 episodes will have a lot going on, yes. But this episode's heart and soul is what makes the show special.
Fun fact about the thumb moment: right before Luz holds out her hand, Amity's holding both of her hands together and her own thumb is rubbing the back of the other hand, so it's like Luz noticed that and copied the motion!
We WERE all waiting for you to react to this, its already a 3 in 1 for reactors, but you got the benefit of being a hooty fan. And seeing your big grin the entire reaction was worth the wait!
YES! I've been waiting for this one as soon as I found out that you loved Hooty. Mostly to see if that love for him stays the same or if it improves. And I can't wait to see what you thought of that ending 😜
I knew you'd be grinning so much this episode. Been waiting for it ever since you said you loved Hooty. And I swear I could hear the collective NOOOOOs being yelled when Hooty ate the letter.
To answer your question at the start, Bob Dylan originally wrote "Knocking On Heaven's Door" and GnR later covered it. They did a wonderful cover of it at the Freddie Mercury Tribute.
When this episode title got revealed, everyone assumed it was just gonna be a filler episode. After all, what could a Hooty focused episode do? Turns out the answer is a LOT. Hooty helped push forward the development of our 3 main leads. The whole episode is just incredible. We learn so much about how demons work. We also learn a ton about Eda's life. And, of course, we get our big Lumity moment. I love everything about this episode. Just absolutely fantastic.
I sometimes wonder if Dana is just sitting in the office taking bets while writing the story. Like: "I bet you can't make the people hate Amity even more whilst the first episodes" She:"no problem!" Some time later: "I bet you can't male the entire fandome love Amity!" She: "no Problem." "I bet you can't unite the different oppinions about Hooty so that all people love him".... And it goes on like that...
In retrospect, it's perfect that "Eclipse Lake" is the episode directly following this one, so nobody knows what Titan's Blood looks like at this point, and the only ones who've seen King's Blood (Tinella & Hooty) were left out in the adventure and didn't really see the Titan's blood much in any episode afterwards
(At 13:15) this is probably Hooty's means of getting back at Amity… for beating the shit out of him. By kidnapping Amity and turning her into an airtight owl pellet?
This whole episode! It was not at all what I expected when I heard the title, but it did not disappoint at all. The moment you said you were gonna watch the owl house and Hooty was your favorite I couldn’t wait for you to see this episode! You FINALY made it! I love this portion of the episode because so much was given to us then but also so many questions appeared. I also thought the same thing with no sound it was perfect. It’s true Luz and Amity just feel so earned! The writers do a fantastic job at building these characters. I really do appreciate that Hooty has gotten much more screen time this season. The show wouldn’t be what it is without him
There so much going on in this episode, that only focusing one one thing feels so wrong, but Titan is this important. So Luz was bullied in the human realm, and it was said in one single line that was more mutter then yelled and has to be thought about is just.... aaaaaaa. Seriously, the line is 'Oh, no. I'm gonna be made fun of again.' that it. By itself it bad, but taking and applying it to some of Luz other traits, and it make a lot of sense. Luz flaw is that she doesnt think she deserve help, which is probably gotten from here. And then there tons of lines that are made worse by thins (ex Luz talking about Bosha to king in s1e8 says 'Even if I could, it's not worth it. You wouldn't understand how to handle teens like her'). There a lot more, but I leave that for you to discover if you want to.
I’ll say this right now the curse is definitely a curse but the actual owl beast itself is actually a separate entity and we saw some of its memories in this episode
Eda's curse is very much a metaphor for mental illness. it causes difficulty with relationships and takes over sometimes. it can be managed but not cured with medication. but ultimately the best decision is to embrace it and make peace with it instead of denying it. accepting a mental illness as part of yourself helps turn it into something managable.
This episode made me so happy XD I was still a little sad it wasn't able to be spread out into multiple episodes but it was really great. The fact they allowed this on DISNEY made me so happy. And Luz being Bi makes it even more amazing since there's just like - no Bi rep. Glad you're enjoying and Hooty hoot hoot episode!
