This was a good simple explanation someone gave me a while back.
Imagine attack, defense, HP are balls and you're trying to cram as many balls (of any type) into a jar of a certain size. If the attack ball is much bigger and the other 2 are much smaller, you want to use as much of the other 2 as possible since they take up less space, giving you more total balls in the jar

Dude you are the real world teacher we all need. Don't get me wrong, Kiengs videos are solid and packed full of information but they are definitely more aimed at the battler who always hits rank 10 who wants the tiny extra edge.

Your info and comments are the best, and there is no distorted or hear say or approximations. Your comforts for us whether one should proceed to make a new Pokémon or not should also consider the playing strategy as once the game starts....the best Pokémon might meet the worst situation.
I cannot afford to remake my Pokémons considering the lv 50 impacts as I am not a full time player, but I still enjoy the Pokémon game and watching Zynoik channel.

very good idea. They are important but I never really paid attention to it.
Would be useful if you can highlight those common meta matchups where it pays to have a certain breakpoint/bulkpoint. I never play ML-Open but believe Dialga v Dialga is such a case

Awesome explanation of iv’s!! Very rarely will I lose a battle and say I would have won that with a higher ranked iv mon...I can usually go back to a battle and think of different options like energy management, swaps, or shields that would have changed the outcome of the battle. It’s a fun hunt to find good pvp iv’s though!

It's good to be cognizant about IVs, but I feel that team composition and shield/energy management should always be the bigger focus. At any rate, you shouldn't feel the need to go trespassing on someone's property because someone told you there's a top-five rank Pokémon for PvP there or whatever.
I was worried about my high ranked Pokemon becoming worse, but you've put my mind at ease thank you. It's also a high investment going over level 40 so it won't happen immediately, not in Great League anyway.
Another useful video. A good or at least a decent IV matter between hard loss, one HP and a dream or who's was worried.

Great video as always! As for the PVP IV - I usually go for good PVP IV BUT that don't matter all that much. I have a rank 12 Alolan Marowak and I don't care and I don't use it. For as long as the shiny was in the game I've been hunting it. Did all the raids, grinded as much as I could on Go fest and nothing. And then on the raid day with my last pass I got it - a 14/15/13. Been battling with him ever since. To me he is rank 1, I don't care what the IV say!

Well I'll say this I'm brand new to pvp just got in for baby cup because I thought that you don't get into pvp until you get the perfect pvp iv pokemon which I found out is not the case and now I'm addicted the catch cup is good for me because I do not have any great league mons so investing into some for catch cup is fine with me because I didn't have them before and these vids are great explain ing pvp thanks so much

Someone may have said this before, but I believe the default settings on PvPoke usually gives you a rank around ~400-600 Pokémon for that league UNLESS it’s a Pokémon that powers up to 40 (or comes close to 40). I could be off though. The important thing there is PvPoke considers something between roughly 400 and 600 as “average” stat product for that Pokémon (again except for those who power up to or close to 50).
I have a few highly ranked PVP mons. They work amazing. I use a hundo lucky azumarill which works fine as well. Just invest in the best one you have if you're in a hurry looking to use it.

I have been using my 96% IV Swampert in UL because I don’t have enough other pokemon to play in ML yet. With Swampert on lead mirror match I always win CMP and potentially end up a shield ahead if we are both running HC/SW

What would be better, 0/15/15 azu vs 8/15/15 azu, both maxed out for GL, ever since XL candy came out, I'm having difficulty finding which one is the actual 100% for GL
I think one thing you overlooked when comparing *your* Azu against a perfect Azu is how it performs in GL. The comparison between each other is nice when illustrating CMP Ties, but according to pvpoke, your Azu has two fewer wins against the GL meta than a perfect one, which is what is more important (as far as this rk8 peak pleb knows).
A question I think about before investing (for UL and GL) is, how fast is x pokemons fast move? If it’s something like dragon breath or mud shot I go with as low attack as possible (0-3). On the other hand if it’s confusion or charm for example it will be more cmp situations that isn’t only against mirror matches so then I usually try to get a higher attack (between 5 and 10 depending on how good it’s ranked on gostadium)
What's the best way to count moves? By turns or by number of fast moves? Feel like it's better to count turns when opponent's pokemon has diferrent turn fast moves, but also it's easier to count number of fast moves lol

I saw the KingIV video a while back. I liked his ranking, 0-5 don't bother, 6-8, you can but no urgency, 9 & 10 are must invests is how I interpreted that rating system.

Im pretty sure ive read somwhere that pokemon that are past level 40 wont be eligible for go battle league, they may be in the future but it is not really relevent untill they allow it, i could be wrong tho
The only real part about PVP for me as literal infant in this game (barely reaching 3 months of play time) is actually The limited pool of Pokemon I have aviable, so it's hard for me to get Pokemon for PVP like Swampert for example. I am trying to get a team for Great League (mostly for the lower dust investment) to start grinding PVP rewards, but I'm kinda stuck right now

I got super lucky and got a level 41 (best buddied) rank 1 azu in a random trade, which is my current one, maxed, already had a hundo powered up for GL which I don't use now ofc, no way am I investing in another one when there's so much more I wanna try out.

Frankly, there have been many times where my sub-optimal mons have been the better choice in PvP. I think this mostly happens when the pokemon are glassy or mirror matches... toxicroak and haunter come to mind immediately. That +1 attack allows me to control the match and set the tone because I see how they act with shields/switching.
As nice as the simulation perfect is, the game isn't a simulation. Things like lag will happen... probably during every single match.

getting PVP rank #1 pokemon are great... here is the problem and im glad you have used Azumarill as an example because ive invested in 2 very heavily.. I am seeing that # 1 varies according to what PVP calculator a person is using when im out on my phone i use Poke Genie , at home in front of the PC i use PvPoke , and just now i stumble on to Go Stadium all of which show differing #1 PVP stats for #1.. if this is an exact science why do rankings vary depending on what calculator is used?
More in depth would be good... like new graet league eligible pokes (maybe middle evolutions)... I"m too lazy to look it up myself
The video was great but now I'm think wth I transfer Pokémon with bad ivs because the cap was 40 and now with level 50 some of the Pokémon I transfered would have been high rank

Only for things that max out around 1500 (or 2500). Hypno, for example, maxes out at around 2000 currently, so a rank 1 hypno won’t change after level 50 is implemented
Should i evolve a beldum into metagross with ivs 15/14/12 for master league
One word: WAIT
I made the same mistake and evolved beldum with many others without knowing that they need the legacy/community day moves, if you evolve that now, it won't get that much needed attack, and you'll have to invest an elite charged tm to get that exclusive move (meteor mash in this case). We mostly get a repeat CD in December where if you evolve one, it'll get that exclusive move, but you need to wait unless you are ok with using an elite charged tm.

@@darkgameryt773 its very decent, would be better to get a 15/15/14 or 15/14/14 or 15/14/13, that's a little lower and won't have as much bulk, finding a better one if possible or best buddying this one will do what's required, if used as is, it'll still be amazing as its still 90%+ iv with 15 attack

Nope! Just more options for Pokémon who can power up more under their given league.

@@Zamirys18 it only makes the changes on pokemon's max cp, so mostly only great and ultra league are gonna be affected where more pokemon are gonna be relevant, level 40+ only affects the mons that previously needed to be maxed to use in a league.

Before people are hype about powering up pokemon to lvl50.. Grind to lvl50 is 1 thing.. getting enough XL candy to power up that pokemon to lvl50 is another. And so far. It's a really tough thing to do unless NIA make changes.. Australia players catch and transfer many hundreds of Magmar during Coms day... Did not even get enough XL candies that is require to power up till 50. Powering 1 pokemon from lvl41-50 need 250 XL candies and 300,000 stardust thereabout.
So.. if after playing a community day of that pokemon.. if 1 still cant get enough XL candy for that pokemon... what does it mean for the other pokemon.
In the end.. Many player will be lvl50 but pokemon still lvl 40 or 45.. thereabout.
It is a test, hopefully it improves :)
@@ZyoniK_Pokemon Yea.. I really hope they do. Catching and transferring pokemon also dont guarantee XL candies. It's kinda RNG. Convert 100 for 1XL is not an option at all. First power up already require 10XL. That's 1000 normal candies for 1 power up. Jeez. If that's the rate we going. I really respect whoever is able to power up a legendary pokemon to lvl50. It's insane.

No plan survives contact with the enemy. You can simulate in pvpoke all you want, there will be that one guy with a SINGLE pokemon that counters the entirety of your team with its fast charge coverage. And to rub salt in your wound, it will be a random IV like my Hitmonchan. Pokemon GO isn't as strategic as the actual Pokemon games. It's so much more about fast decision making as opposed to turn based classic pvp where it's having five different plans and answer to your opponent and knowing when to throw which move, what move your opponent will have (Because they will have 4 moves with at least 1-2 coverage ones.) and knowing what's safe switch that puts the opponent on the back heel.
If you're playing Pokemon GO, just make a balanced team that completes one another and slam that phone screen. Don't think about things that only affect the battle by miniscule percentages. Think about what your opponent will do.
But, are we going to be allowed to use lvl 41+ pokémons in GBL?!?

Yep! Confirmation has been stated from Niantic that you can now power up +10 of your Character level, if you're level 30 you can power pokemon to 40. If you're 40 you can power up to 50 :)

There were trainers who re-invested in a new Azu when BB bonus was added to Lvl 41
Azu aint going anywhere but Great League. Even with level 50 its probably only going to max at less than 2000 cp.
