  • This is fourth in a series of videos where we'll be assembling the X axis on an Ultimate Bee 1515 from BulkMan 3D.
    In this video I use a set of Metric Hex drivers which are indispensable for getting into all of those hard to reach places and super cheap:
    amzn.to/3lWk4r4
    Here's the M5 assorted set I reference in the video in case you find you're also missing a few screws from the kit
    amzn.to/3zYyw5o
    For greasing the bearing I use a mini grease gun and that's been the best solution I've found so far for the super mini nipples:
    amzn.to/3TXyQdL
    As for grease itself, I personally like the super lube multipurpose with PTFE
    amzn.to/3Zwwunk
    Lastly, If you don't feel like shooting your snap rings across your workshop you may feel inspired to grab a set of snap ring pliers
    amzn.to/3nAhmIq
    There were a couple of "gotcha's in the Bulkman instructions on this step so hopefully this video can save you some pain - Don't rush and enjoy the process.

    Thank you so much for making this Ultimate Bee assembly series of videos! The instructions from BulkMan3D are not the worst, but the illustrations could be a lot more detailed. When I got to the part of attaching the c-beam to y-plates, I had no idea which screw holes to use. The illustration in the instructions shows a jumble of screws all going into holes right next to each other. Yeah, there's 2932 holes in the y-plates...which holes? Your video series was a lifesaver.

      Thanks so much for the support - really makes the work worth it when I hear feedback like this- I hope your machine is running great

    Good video thanks.. Did seem to some flex on that x sideways and twist still on the stepper..

      There is some flex and twist- I did another video, it may be in my shorts- I actually measured the flex with an indicator on both my queenbee 7575 and ultimate bee 1515. It’s not as bad as I would have guessed but it is there for sure

    That is funny about the screws missing. I saw this video a while ago while waited for the delivery of the same machine. So, then I ordered a lot of various extra screws. Now I am at the x axis. Same problem. But the screws will be delivered in 2 days. 😂. I will inform Bulk man though. Because the wrong quantity is also printed on the bag

      Living on the other side of the world. So not that easy to get them either

      Ah, I hadn’t noticed the quantity on the bag was off as well! I hope they come quick for you and the build goes smooth from here

      The screws were just delivered, 2 days earlier than expected. Perfect.

    My machine is now being assembled, and yes that part M5 x10mm @21min was a bit of a surprise all had gone smooth till then… living remote where hardware store don't have button screws is a bummer. Hope you're doing well and you had no further hitches. I'm a bit nervous for the wiring… but seems others have gone before me :)

      Alright well I’ll give you another heads up since I haven’t finished editing the z-video- check now to make sure you have (1) M4x25mm… that one burned me last week and I had to wait a day and a half to start building again

    If I’m reading my instructions right. It says 5x10 on the left side. and 5x 8 on the right

    • @G28CNC
      @G28CNC  7 месяцев назад

      Definitely possible I missed it or they’ve since updated. I did send Bulkman all of the videos to review as I made them. Thanks for the note. How is your machine running?

    •  7 месяцев назад

      Still working on the build. I’m at the point of installing the limit switches.What size did you make your waste board and how did you attach it to the frame ?

    •  7 месяцев назад

      Just hit my first snag,none of my limit switches have been threads just the two holes. Hopefully their the right size to tap

    So @min 21, it looks like you were never supposed to use the M5x10mm for the angle brackets. In the instructions, it had M5x10mm listed to go in the Y plates but in the notes right below it, it says to use 8x M5x8mm. Looks like an error in the instructions 🤦🏾‍♂️ mine only came with 10x M5x10mm as well. If the instructions were correct, you would need at least 16 of them.

    • @G28CNC
      @G28CNC  Год назад

      Yup, just went back and see that it says M5x10 in the table and M5x8 in the notes. This one wasn’t too bad, the missing M5x25mm that’s needed when you build the z axis was super annoying. Hopefully that was just on my kit and not everyone else’s

      @@G28CNC 😂😂😂 perhaps. I also noticed that the instructions only indicated to tighten the grub screw on the diaphragm coupler for the X axis. It explicitly stated not to tighten it during the Y axis assembly but never mentioned it after that.

    Good thing you had those on hand. I think I have some leftover from my xcarve build. Which controller do you have?

    • @G28CNC
      @G28CNC  Год назад

      I’m glad it was one I had, I didn’t have any extra socket caps so if any of those are missing when I go to do the z that will be a bummer haha. I grabbed the high torque grbl controller, that’s what I used on my queen bee pro and I liked that I could easily customize things. What controller did you grab for yours?

    • @AkinetikFitness
      @AkinetikFitness Год назад +1

      @@G28CNC I went with the xpro5 controller. Don’t know much about it, it just seemed like it would be the easiest to wire 🤷🏾‍♂️ I could be wrong though. I guess we’ll see

    • @G28CNC
      @G28CNC  Год назад +1

      There’s a ton of online support for the xpro5 so you should be in really great shape. The part I’ve seen users having the most difficulty with is the RS485 communication between the VFD and the controller but again, a lot of documentation available for that
