Love this. Brings back great memories of our road trip from LA to Yosemite back in 2010. Stayed in El Portal, I think at the same place you mentioned, then hiked the Panorama Trail. Amazing trip, amazing place, good time with friends. Bit of a trip from Scotland but hoping to make back with our daughter one day (my wife was pregnant with her when we were there).
Nice video just want you to know this is not firefalls it is called Horsetail falls. The Firefalls came off of glacier point and was banned sometime In The 60s.
My full blog post actually unpacks that in detail and in my attached video from last year I share the history of the original “Firefall” (our grandparents have many pictures of the Glacier Point Firefall from old visits) I used to solely call this the “Horsetail Fall Natural Phenomenon” as the official park content documented but last year inside the park much of the official signage had shifted to say “Firefall” so I started shifting to “Firefall” and the public seems to understand that more broadly but the origins are very important and I try to include that in all of my full blog posts on my website.🙂
Not really, there’s very minimal snow in Yosemite Valley right now but up in the high country of the Yosemite Wilderness there’s much more snow (hopefully the valley will get a good dusting of snow with the coming storm this weekend..but we’ll have to wait and see if it stays cold enough)❄️
