- Some of our members went to the club for a much needed Social distancing steam up.
As you can see we all enjoyed ourselves.
Scott had his new to him 5 inch gauge "Maid of Kent",Geoff with his 5 inch gauge Jubilee with the new Stanier tender that has been built over the lockdown.
Rosie and I had our 7 1/4 Hunslet "King of the Scarlets".
Roll on when we can invite others owners over to test the track extension when completed.
Good to see you out and about again Chris and Rosie, Our radio yacht club has been in lock down and it looks like for the rest of the year, Lilydale Radio Yacht Club, some 60 odd members. We sail twice a week normally 51 weeks of the year. Average age similar to most of your members, except of course for young Rosie. Thanks once again Chris
Yes it was nice to get out to the club again, not working this time but having some fun.We have radio controlled model aircraft clubs near us and they are flying with social distancing, you have to book a flying spot....Regards Chris.
Nice captures, of boys and their toys, brilliant
Don't forget Rosie Colin, she can drive as good or better than some boys, she loves her steam trains and will drive any that she can....So nice to get out for a steam up again it has been so long....Regards Chris
OOOPS sorry Rosie, we have a miniature railway near here, about 2 mile away, hoping they will be up running soon, good luck on your running sessions, Colin
@@Colin21454 Which one is that Colin?
@@wooltman Bridgend and district model engineering society, its at Park Slip Aberkenfig, on good days it has about 13 trains running, mixed steam and diesel
@@Colin21454 Hi Colin...Got it! We have rode that railway, very good club...We uploaded the video on the 9th of April 2018,under the title of Miniature Railways of Great Britain Bridgend M.E.S, have a look back through my videos you should find it Colin...The only railways we need to ride in South Wales is the Swansea and the Pembroke M.E.S's,plus two standard gauge musuem railway's,one North of Llanelli the other is the Garw Valley rly, very near to you,it's at Pontycymer...We have been to this one but sadly it wasn't open...Regards Chris
A long time coming Chris but looks like you both had a great day. I liked the imaginative 'follow me' shot. Hopefully the first of many steaming days and a bit of work too with all that earthworks? Best Wishes, Brian.
Lot's of work Brian over the last four weeks. It's great that we have a mini-digger that we can use, plus a good driver...I was a bit worried when Rosie filmed that shot, the last time she did that she fell off lol! The film was sent to You have been framed but we didn't get £250....Best wishes Chris
Great to see you back on the right lines! We've had two runs now on two different club tracks but gosh, picking up a lot of rust from the unused rails! Another run this coming weekend if the weather holds. Thanks for the upload.
Many thanks Donna. It was great to get out again..I have to agree the rust was a problem...We are looking forward to visiting other railways in the UK as well, but they are being very cautious at the moment. Our Steaming was a members only under Social distancing, but it was a start.....Regards Chris
How wonderful to see you and Rosie out and about again Chris, loved that chasing sequence. Is that the same 'Maid of Kent' that Rob Rayner once owned?...Best wishes....Bob
The Maid of Kent has been owned by one of our members for many years until he sold it to Scott, this was his first run with it Bob...It was great to get out for a blast around again, although we did test the Royal Scot earlier in the year......Best wishes Chris
Yay, nice to see you have a steam :-) I was happy on Saturday because l got a drive of 'Bertie' :-)
And goodness must be years since l last saw Scott, nice lad. I say lad, a grown man now, beard too! I like he has himself a loco. :-)
Yes Scott has a loco, this was his first steam up with it..Nice to have him back in the club..Did your club have a steam up as well then Kay? I hope so! Everything seems to be getting back to normal, let's hope it stays like that.
@@wooltman No, it was just 'Bertie' out on the track. Had boiler test, passed, and while a fire in etc etc.... :-)
I had three laps of the track. Kev B is very good at letting others onto his loco, he likes others to enjoy Bertie as much as himself, top man :-)
They are opening August but got to book seats , limited service Pickering To Grosmont ... bit pricey as well
I have heard that other railways have doubled there prices as well.
Every body looks like they are having fun, track coming on ,finished mine today had speedy out for a run.
It's a good job we have the use of the mini-digger or we would have been still starting to dig the bank away.....Any video of your run Al?
Missed your videos Chris, good to see you back at it.
I think we all were very pleased to be back with some loco's Nat...Roll on when we can get back to filming other clubs/railways again...Regards Chris
nice one, Chris
Thanks Pete,it's great to get back on track. Are you opening just for members to run?
@@wooltman not yet, getting ready to open in a few weeks time.

A good day had by all , with some good steamed filled fresh air to the lungs again ...
It was great to be back running again.Beats working all the time. That was the first steam up the Maid of Kent has had for years, just a few adjustments and it should be fine......Regards Chris.
It really was great Dave...Roll on when we can all enjoy it again....Any news on the NYMR opening?....Best wishes Chris
Good stuff Chris!
Thanks Peter,so nice to get out for a run......Regards Chris

It was so nice to get out to the club for a run.
hi, the maid doesn't sound too good, has it been sorted since then?
It was on trial he hoped to buy it.But it went back to the owner. As far as I know it's not run since.
@@wooltman its turned up again, I'm having it checked out by a friend of mine this weekend.
@@georgekirkby1912 Are you buying it George.I would think it would need some work doing..Good that you have friend to help.
