Love my Muvn Gruvn 16V. Hard to find shorter ( 5 inch ) handles and as I over grip for my two handed shots I don’t like the longer handles. Great touch and excellent spin with my Gruvn. Also, have the 13S.
Bro! Is there enough material on your shorts to be wiping that wine off the table on?? Haha 😂😂😂 Love the GRUVN review, buying that next!! Thanks fellas, keep up the good/ fun episodes!!
I ❤ me some GRUVN. I love the shapes, the colorways, and lots of options for speedy hand battles. I just wish they were $30-$50 cheaper. Super solid paddles, but not ever pushing the technology envelope, so I have a hard time with the price. If I’m dropping over $150, it’s because I’m chasing some technology I can’t find elsewhere. I justify the spend because I’m paying for that R&D and rewarding the company for the gamble they are taking. Seriously though, really want a LAZR-16S!
The x-axis is traditionally the independent variable, in this case the swing velocity, whereas the y-axis in the dependent variable, the output power. For power generation, these are typically called input-output curves.
Great pod thanks. The 'new week, new main' vibe resonates-also settled on the Invader after trying four other paddles based on your reviews (expensive--eeks). Feedback: heavy focus on new paddle promos feels drawn out, like a 45-minute commercial. Like watching shills for anyone who sends you a paddle. But I get it--it's what the people want.
I just picked up a practically new Hurache-X JB 14mm as my shoulder and elbow has been ailing a bit and was shocked how well it played. Definitely lacked some pop but I know exactly what y’all mean by the pocketing. Does feel similar to a Vatic Pro Saga but 11six24 has better customer service. Have a Saga with a detached edge guard they won’t warranty hence me grabbing a Jelly Bean and the Saga I put on sale for cheap.
Could you give us a step-by-step or a short video or something showing us how to do our grip with the two other grips that you use. I am interested in taking my stock grip off and using two over grips to form the grooves. Thanks in advance.
Another great episode. One of the better net gains IMO. Concrete examples of how footwork is shaping shots and the importance of getting the ball in front of you before hitting. Will definitely work on that next time. Thanks.. Also would you remind me/us of the playability features of core cell size, ie, 6 vs 10?
Since there isn’t a playlist/collection of just the nerd town segments (cough, cough 👊🏻), have you covered how different ways of applying face graphics affect the ball if any at all? Or can you answer that in a Q&A if not enough for a nerd town? Maybe go into what are the different ways of applying graphics.
Let’s goooo just made my morning! Love you guys!! Ya’ll should also check out basketball shoes for PB. I’ve been playing in NB and WoW. Currently wearing the WoW fission 9. Great grip and durable outsole. I’m rocking some Move Gameday insoles.
Invader has been the main since it came out, but I picked up my 11SIX24 Alpha1 last night and was killing it. That thing makes every shot easier to make
I have the j2ti as my main but is the Alpha1 that good? I have it also but haven’t opened it and am debating whether to sell it since the new 11six24 paddles are coming out
I was actually in the same predicament, wife got me the alpha for Xmas but I wasn’t using it and basically let my friend demo it. We were playing a match as partners, me using my Invader, she using the Alpha and we were getting destroyed, most likely getting pickled, so we swapped paddles. Once we swapped, we came back and the other team couldn’t score once. From that point forward we stuck with those paddles and pretty much went undefeated the rest of the night
The "exponential" effect of paddles is based on spring effect of paddle (and ball compression). The energy stored at contact is squared based on deflection amount. That requires trampoline effect, which is supposedly outlawed by rules. Anyway, be nice to nerd town on that. Might influence the industry - are mods and 3s and foam surrounded cores illegal based on trampoline effect.
With the change to the 11six24 all courts what would be some good comps to try out Chorus super court paddletek esq c 14.3 Neonic Flair prime x or body helix x4 or x5

2 quick questions: - how do you feel the Pegasus AC compares to the OG Monarch AC? - SLYCE came out with something similar to the FlickWeights. Any chance of a comparison?
Hey Justin, listening while assembling machines today. On the Vapors that felt so different, I'd guess that the handle is a big part of it. A molded handle will be much stiffer than pallet construction.
That might be why it feels like "throat flex" in a way. The handle is so solid which could make a more defined flex point right at the end of the handle. I'll have to leave it to the geniuses like you to test. In fact, I'm going to reach out to you about testing something else. My pretengineer is reaching it's limits.
@@Pickleballetc Perhaps. I'm actually printing a handle that extends up through the throat area. I'm putting it on a cold-press paddle to see if it stiffens it up enough to make it feel like a thermoformed paddle and reduces the deadness at the tip. Feel free to reach out.
I will say that I like a linear paddle too. There’s nothing more annoying than to put your paddle out in the ball goes somewhere. It shouldn’t go or hit too hard unexpectedly.
Flick Weights are great. So easy and they don't fall off. 6g or 9g are best. 3g is tough to notice. 15g/18g seem very heavy unless the paddle is super light. I really hope they hire someone to redo their website though if they want to be taken more seriously in the long run. They have an opportunity to stand out in the pickleball world and need to pounce on it. Also very sad about the Chorus push backs, but Matt made it very clear in the Discord why he felt like he had no choice. Can't wait to try the Supercourt HX.
We don't like to get into conjecture or gossip too much on this pod and the details of this situation are still actively developing. They were re-listed the next day. We may touch on this situation once there are publicly available facts.
How thick are the heaviest Flik weights? What is the risk that adding one might push your paddle length beyond the legal limit? If your paddle is right up against the limit, then it could potentially make your paddle illegal assuming the Flik weight is slightly thicker than the original logo eurocal sticker.
Just measured: the decal that I pulled off was 1.6mm thick and the thickest (18g) flik weight is 3.1mm. So, yes you could technically go over the dimensional limit by 1.5mm, but i highly doubt you would ever get called out or penalized for this in any scenario. The thinner flik weights are all actually the same thickness or thinner than the stock decal so no risk at all with those.
Looking forward to hear what you think of the RHAPSODY. Liking mine so far. Are the pre-made fiberglass layups using Resin? Bodhi's are the bomb!! To be fair, there are some "knock offs" from TEMU that come close for less $$. New Week, "old" main. Super solid NERD TOWN.
I know what you are trying to say with the curves, but I think you should clarify. The power curve of newer paddles may be different and look more like the curve you drew, but that doesn't make it "exponential". That has a specific meaning and would essentially mean the power would grow extremely fast towards the speed of light and turn the ball into dust. The more accurate way to say it is that each paddle contstruction will have a unique power curve, some will look more linear, some more curved, but all eventually flatten out simple because the materials involved have a breaking point. I'm skeptical that floating cores have anything close to the sharp curve you are saying though I understand the point you are making that they seem to provide more power with less effort than older constructions. My guess is that the power curve more just shifts upward in the graph, perhaps with a slight curve, but we would actually need data to know for sure.
Yes, you are absolutely correct. We are actually looking into testing real power curves for different paddles. It would be awesome to have some good data. This is one of those times that words don't do a great job defining exactly what is happening so an accurate graph would be awesome. We'll revisit this for sure once we have some good data.
Weird cus I feel like my invader is super stiff and not plush at all. I’m wondering if it’s due to the fiberglass or is it just my specific invader is defected lol
