- The wand chooses the wizard or witch, as they say! Explore Hogsmeade and step inside Ollivander's Wand Shop at Universal Studios Hollywood's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, set to officially open on April 7.(0:39)
As you walk inside Ollivander's Fine Makers of Wands and wait for the wand pairing experience to begin, take a look around at the hundreds of wands stacked to the ceiling. (1:19) The Wandkeeper will greet you, as the show starts. (2:16)
The Wandkeeper will "sense a curious magical power" from someone in the audience. (2:36) To find the most fitting wand for the chosen audience member, the Wandkeeper will have the chosen wizard or witch try a number of wands from various sizes and cores, including Dragon Heartstring, Unicorn Hair and Phoenix Tail Feather. (3:30)
The chosen wizard or witch then goes through a series of spells to find the perfect wand! (3:56) Watch as they attempt to descend a wand box and make flowers grow. (4:53)
As a familiar tune begins to play, it will seem as if the wand match may have been found. (5:19) The perfect spell will be cast and the wand matched! (5:50)
If you are lucky enough to be chosen, the Wandmaker will explain what comes next. (6:36) You have the choice of purchasing the wand, or choosing another, whether it's a character wand, an original or interactive. (7:19)
If you were not chosen, do not fret! You can still find the perfect wand for your magical endeavors by heading inside the shop at the conclusion of the show. (8:01)

I was chosen for the person to step up. TIPS TO BE PICKED: Stand at the front! You're most likely to be picked if you stand in the front. ACT AMAZED! This is VERY important! Look around with awe and be amazed. These tips worked for me when I went.

Yesterday, before I saw this comment, I wore a Hufflepuff uniform (HUFFLEPUFF PRIDE!) and I was looking around because I've never been there before. He chose me and I was so freaking excited. My brother was there and so were my parents.(They have no clue who's Harry Potter/What Hogwarts is , mum only came for butterbeer bc she tried it once and loved it)
Next time I'm going to bring my cousin, she's 9, I'll buy her uniform, she's gonna be excited already, and she'll probably look around in amazement. She's never been there. Hopefully she gets chosen. Thanks for the tips anyways!

This place is EPIC. One of the timex I went there I found a (poor) man at the train station. The was an actor for a show I think, anyway I pointed my wand on him and I said "Avada Katabra" he fall down like he was dead. Everyone laughted and we thanked the man for this reaction. It was great!!!

And O.O that's a new way to see Avada Kedavra to be spelled. I find these different spellings due to how people heard it to be interesting. Avada kadabra is probably my favorite misspelling though. xD

Take a couple sorting hat quizzes and the Myers Briggs personality test, then use those results to determine which wand is the most like you! It's not nearly as magical, but it still makes the process of choosing a wand much more sentimental.

Okay so does everyone get a personal wand? Or is it just one person? Cuz that sucks if it's only one person.
With the wand fitting experience, it is just one person selected. You can however purchase a personal wand in the shop/next door after the fitting experience or just go in and purchase anyway. Basically, if you get selected you get to do the magical bit in the store, but you still have to pay. If your not selected and want a wand, you can purchase one, but you still have to pay.
The wand keeper said "I know that your wand is waiting to choose you" thats a way to make people think they will get a personal wand.

My sis and I got picked for this in universal studios. We went at the same time and we both got handed a wand and then he swapped them and they chose us. I got elder with Phoenix and my sis got Ivy with unicorn

I wish I could post pics of my wand . The winter elk wand is beautiful. It has this random web of the silvery antler from which its core was made. It makes the wand look compromised. But it is strong enough to take down an Airwolf helicopter this is the wand.that allows my dark ranger to graduate from the Texas School of witchcraft and wizardry.spy school. So I would assume that making the wands is important to the magical spy.
