- In this wonderful clip taken from the July 2002 Lecture, The Nature of Divinity vs. Religious Fallacy, Dr. Hawkins talks about spiritual practice to let go of attractions and aversions. Once we can let go of our attachments, we are much freer to make choices and God is experienced as Freedom.
Dr. Hawkins also shares how he himself got off chocolate by using spiritual practice.

If you’ve never asked or gone into this question then I understand if it seems absurd. But the modern mind is rooted in the dogma of materialism which is proven as bs in everything from modern quantum physics - listen to David Bohm - to psychology.

@@Alex722 well, essentially all this is the Self, the Presence out of which the whole existence arises, including souls. Material or immaterial, soul or no soul, guacamole is hard to beat. 😇
God or the word god is used when something cant be explained. Therefore if a god was known and not just a belief, then to use god as freedom is just an addiction like any other addiction. I mean you know what a chocolate and a pepsi are but you dont know what a god is.

You seem to have a few things twisted about. The Doc very clearly established that God, that is the Presence out of which Existence arises, cannot be explained, but it can be experienced (enlightenment and even during temporary states of high consciousness).. The Doc also said that because the human mind "lives" in a different paradigm than the spiritual (including God), it cannot grasp it and thus its only way is faith - to trust it (believing is part of it). The mind questioning God doesn't make sense. How can the lesser question the greater? How can the linear and extremely limited and prone to endless errors and mistake question the non-linear, the multi-dimensional...actually going beyond all that is manifested? The human mind can question the human use of the concept of God, and it should question it, as God has been abused and doctored this way and that way. Also, even when used positively/integrously, "God" is usually misunderstood and that create even a subconscious resentment within a person that then bubbles to the surface of being frustrated with "God" and all the crap around it. Perhaps the crux of the thing is that in human language we label things; we have to in order to communicate them. But that then creates a very easily assumed duality of "me the person-soul" and "God"; "this" and "that". We are told that in reality there is no "this" and "that" (they are artifacts of perception). There is only a presence...Presence...that (to perception) manifests in infinite ways. This Presence is the God.
@@BlueAlgon Reality couldn't care less what state of consciousness is nor what one perceives.
The mind and consciousness are non physical and require a faculty which is the physical brain and the physical brain required a Form Source to implement mind and consciousness tools for awareness for the Form Source surrounds for it's very survival and for the evolving of it's host the Being.( consciousness is only a store and recall tool).
Basically your lineage inception was initially FORMED not BORN at an epoch.
No so called God had a hand in that process for your FORMS inception, is was simply Fused elements Forming and in/on favourable conditions such as Earth, your Form has a symbiotic relationship with Biology. You now have Duality which is your Form Source elements( your Presence within) and your Born Being biology, you are Duality in more ways than one.
Your Form Source has already manifested from elements of the Universe, no God had a hand in that process. Your Form Source is your imprinted knowledge. Consciousness cannot exist in the Universe because there is no Form Source nor imprinted knowledge FACULTY to implement consciousness. The Universe is Random and Random means " happening without method or conscious decision.
Because your Form Source derived from the Universe, it's mind tool can advise it's Host the physical brain there is no god and how existence derived.
Nothing is Something. All the Something currently in the Universe came from Nothing which Nothing was just in another form of Something, it would have to be otherwise there would be no Something currently in the Universe. You don't even have to be an Astro Scientist to know that. So prior to Nothing form was Absolute nothing form and prior to that was lets say Eternal form and Time form and then Whatever Form which were all prior Forms of Something currently in the Universe that were matter forms.
So if your God is the Presence, then your God, he? to is made of matter in another Form of Something. So from where did your God accumulate matter to create the Universe, what, out of his rectum, the same as what your Doc is getting his beliefs from.
Even Jesus knew there is no God because he said, " I and the father are one" Hello!
