    To the comments saying he shouldn't have record this, posted it and claim he was camera hungry, shame on you. If you paid close attention, it was his way of telling people of what drugs can not only do to their bodies and mind, but how it effects their children. I was literally in tears when that little boy was crying over his mother's drug overdose death. No child should have to go through that, not at that young age.

      I lost my mom when I was 4 from a drug overdose. More people need to see what it does to the children they leave behind. If people see reactions of kids hearing their mom died or seeing them in a coffin, maybe it will be an eye opener. my sister was 18 months old, she tried to crawl into the coffin with our mom to cuddle. I thank him for getting clean for his son instead of diving harder into the drugs.

      The way that I understood it was that he could have the video for himself, to remind himself the kind of pain the little boy had to go through and if he didn't' clean himself up he would put the boy in the same place again.

      Angel TV This man is a recovering addict. He knows and clearly stated that in active addiction nothing else matters. It comes before your kids or your health. So he knows that any addict out there with children who is in active addiction will not stop just because they saw a video of another child (who isn't their own) grieving his mother who died of an overdose😢 That addict has already chosen & continues to choose drugs over everything. So if they could not stop for their own kids, they're not going to stop for someone elses child. They won't stop just because they saw a video of someone elses child and he knows that because he's a recovering addict. Also, if he wanted to keep it for himself as a reminder to not relapse he could have very well done exactly that & kept it to his self.. I'm saying this as a recovering addict with two amazing children who has 3 yrs clean. If any of you know someone who is using please do not think that showing them videos of other children, moms, people in general mourning THEIR loved ones will convince them to stop using. There may be that one out of a million who sees the error of their ways after seeing other people hurting but for most cases, that's not how it works. It would be amazing if it did though! There would be so many addicts getting clean if it were that way. ❤

    • @emz33
      @emz33 8 лет назад +10

      Miriam Baena This might help addicts that have been clean a while and sound of mind since they're not on drugs. They can watch these types of videos if they're slipping a bit. But I agree, someone who's actively using won't be affected by these.

      cc C ...my husband died IN FRONT of my children of a drug overdose. I got clean a year later. 16 years opiate free, my son is 16, my daughters are adults. None of them have addictions, it took 10 years of me being clean and consistent before I was forgiven for the damage we caused. I think sometimes addicts think because we did this incredibly difficult thing of getting clean and cleaning up all the collateral damage that we caused we forget all the anxiety, pain, destruction , dysfunction and horror we caused everyone around us and become discouraged that we are not the hero. it's courageous to get clean, but we left victims all over the place. Regaining your life and grace are doable. What's owed to that little boy, will be paid over a lifetime. I wish them nothing but peace and love.

      +Elizabeth Pokos I hope so but in reality this kid will grow up with resentment and abandonment issues and in a world that's accepting of drug abuse (in most cases including this one both parents addicts).
      I knew a great and amazing guy growing up and his father overdosed on heroin when he was a baby and this great guy I knew overdosed in his early twenties. This guy i knew was smart and outgoing, he was one of a kind but struggled deeply with his fathers death.I think people are quick to forget just exactly how traumatic it is to lose a parent in this manner and the issues they will struggle with throughout their lives.

    • @elizabethpokos7303
      @elizabethpokos7303 8 лет назад +4

      cc C Having a parent die when you're a baby and knowing them then knowing they died is two totally different things. I have watched a best friend OD as well as many family members and I would never do that to myself...I just hope the father stays clean for the rest of his child's life. With enough love and support, the child can heal his open wounds and move on to live a wonderful life.

    This heroine epidemic is literally life and soul crushing. As a victim of the heroine epidemic, it affects more than just the addict. It affects their family, friends, anyone who cares for them. It is so much more than "oh well they died now they're not on drugs and their family doesnt have to deal with them!". Most people get addicted to drugs after being over prescribed pills. That's how it happened in my case. Something has to be done.

    • @nuvasoo
      @nuvasoo 8 лет назад +25

      He's in recovery. If you didn't already know, cigarettes are given freely in rehab. Addicts have a tendency to get rid of one addiction and move on to another. There was a study done and it found when cigarettes are banned in rehab facilities that the completion rate drops from 70% to 40%. Smoking is gross, but I would him much rather smoke a cigarette in front of his kid then jam a needle in his arm. Not everyone grieves the same.

    i lost my father when i was 4.. he got lung cancer from smoking :(. that was 13 years ago and till this day people keep calling our house asking if he's available. (he was an ophthalmologist and did SO many surgeries for free if people couldn't afford them, he was always giving and never asked for things if he knew the person couldn't afford it.. he was a great man and i'm proud to know that)

    I was a drug addict in my youth. The day my 1st child was born I just couldn't live like that no more. My parents raised me to think it's ok, but as a child I remember I didn't want that life for them. My kids love me so much I would never do anything to hurt them like that.

    My mother committed suicide on July 31st with all of her pills from her surgery, I found her on the floor with blood coming out of her nose and mouth with her face wrinkled up and all a deep purple, horrifying and I still can't stop thinking about it, she'd be unidentifiable to anyone else. The pain this kid is experiencing is nothing that can be described with words nor visuals, you'd have to experience it to understand the fact that your parent/relative didn't pass away from something that is natural, but the fact that they did this to themselves. This makes me so infuriated of what drugs do to society. Now this kid can no longer see his mom grow older with him, or his mother watch him grow up. My anxiety from my mother killing herself has worsened, if someone important or not doesn't contact me within a reasonable time I can't sit still and I have to know whats going on or i think they've died or got in an accident. Sounds stupid, i know. But it's truly terrorizing and has scarred me, I can't imagine what this little boy is going through...

    Being a recovering addict myself, this video really hit home and made me cry for the first time in a while. I've lost too many friends and nearly relatives to this shit... If they didn't overdose they committed suicide, and I've cheated death so many times it makes me sick just trying to count. This video brings back feelings that are all too familiar, and they are NOT good ones. Please, please, if you or anyone you know has a drug problem of any sort, *PLEASE* at least try to get them the help they need.

    My heart is breaking for that little boy! I couldn't imagine not being there for my boys... When people are deep into their addictions they don't think about the people who love them, not even their children. Addiction takes over their whole lives. This poor kid lost his mom.. people might see it as just another dead addict not realizing that to that little boy she was so much more then that.. Praying the little boy learns from his mom's mistake and doesn't follow in her foot steps

    I lost my dad 8 years ago not to drugs but to alcohol . He was a heavy drinker and drank himself to death. I lost my mom at a young age ( I was 11) and from there dad went downhill. (Not an excuse for his alcohol abuse) . My mom died in a car accident from a college student whom fell asleep , she was on her way to work, and he was on his way back to his place from a friends after being up almost all night studying .He wasn't drunk or anything . I'll never forget being told she died , and watching my dad slowly "kill himself" .

    My mom died when I was 9 from a drug overdose. I was told she got sick one night and had a seizure. The summer before my sophomore year in high school my grandma gave me my moms death certificate and I read what her cause of death was and it hurt that I was lied to for so long. I then started piecing everything together and I finally figured out my mom had actually committed suicide because she was so messed up. I was the only reason she held on for so long. But because of her choice I have tried to make that same exact choice before. I could never and will never though.

    I've been addicted to opiates as well as amphetamines for 10 years. I also have an 8 year old son. I needed to see this. My mom has told me a few times that her greatest fear in life is having to tell my son that I've passed away due to an overdose. I can't stop crying after seeing this. It really hit me hard imagining my baby in this situation. I want nothing but the best for my son & it hurts so bad losing control over everything. My son lives with my mom BC I don't want him watching me slowly kill myself each day. Thankfully, I will be serving jail time soon providing me with another chance at sobriety. I will remember this always. Thank You.
