They way Navarro and INXS talks about JD is like they are setting up to pick him and have already decided it. That JD storyline about him saying he knows all the songs was probably manufactured for the show.
That's what I said every episode after the first.. and of course at this point we know he was the one they chose. I ran across these and thought I would watch again just to se if I was right and sure enough I just noticed even more how they had made their mind up before this even started.
He’s truly the only that could do Hutchence the benefit. He had that talent to bring it without jeopardizing the song, but doing it naturally, not imitating like a tribute artist. Which says he really did grow up to devouring their music. He did so effortlessly.

I know they chose Brooke to emcee because she's cute. But this is a music show, and I wish they would have chosen someone with a musical voice for the job.

I agree. Her style of singing and enunciating, it’s over dramatic, causing the timing to be slower. While she’d do great in her own band and style but not fronting a bad of this up beat, dragon energy status. That’s why I think instead of AI, etc, having bands with their own written music and style would bring back a lot of individuality. Just look at many that wouldn’t make on those contestant shows but say like Hole, who’s “vocalist’s” for lack of better word made it. Her noise and circumstances transferred a fan base. After K couldn’t help, it took BG to help write and produce CS & NB daughter. If anyones interested in hearing what her vocals and “playing” are truly like, look up on YT, where she stiffed the sound guy, and he isolated her vocals and strumming. Be prepared to lose ur breath from laughter, just saying. Point being, having a band allows someone who can’t really play, arrange or sing give them an opportunity to develop their sound for entertainment, and there’s a fan out there somewhere for everyone. But it does help being married to an iconic genius that could arrange in minutes and then add lyrics that don’t necessarily have any intention, and make the hits. Also benefitted her that he just happened to have two accidents and the final one, the week her album was due to release. It’s bone chilling to hear her say all publicity is good and not to sound selfish But K’s death could help sell her albums. Unbeknownst to the fans that transferred out of grief, was the fact that KC instructed his entertainment lawyer to draw up the will , amending, that everything goes to FB and write CL out. That’s documented. And shame on them for trying to suppress this and not obey his wishes. Greedy managers didn’t want to lose money on their new asset (CL) and suits were highly PO bc all the money was on the table, but K didn’t want to play Lollapalooza. That’s why the intervention to force him and use his child as leverage. All documented. Travesty of justice. It’s not like he’s the only victim in a line of bodies. Layne Staley knew the ins and outs on everything in his city abs had direct contact to those circles. Until his dying day, he confided with his parents and others that KC death was a hit. Just like his other true friends, deny he was suicidal, as did the drs, and he certainly would have left a very detailed letter for FB. I did not enjoy Neil’s elimination performance at all, I enjoyed the women much better, but that is subjective and personal choice, as is all music. I watched this Rockstar show 11 years ago and it was apparent that INXS was going to choose a White Male singer, no matter how good the Ty and the Women did. It’s funny bc she thought by picking a heavy metal song that would be a sure win. Reminds me of AI contestants choosing the hardest songs by singers in a category of their own that well seasoned pros can’t do let alone Simone with no talent , it just shows how inept they are. But in their thinking that choosing a mega star’s mega hit will win it, lol. Not at all! It ruins them and unfortunately they haven’t anyone to tell them the truth or just too arrogant to take sound constructive criticism and unfortunately make a spectacle of themselves. Michelle Ricker same. I thought he was the best fit. The only reason he didn’t last was because he had a drug problem. I saw them when they first toured after the show and he did a great job. He wasn’t Michael but he didn’t try to be.
not sure what you heard but Neal did not have the strongest performance, however I agree that maybe Jessica should have gone home. I think maybe INXS took his performance from the night before into account too much
Richard Bishop He sang Fortunate Son just fine and he sounded a shit ton like Michael when he sang Suicide Blonde. I feel like he could have potentially been the best on the show. He has the "sex appeal" to the ladies that Michael had.

I think once they heard JD’s song the contest was over. They knew it was a hit.

Every single one of these girls sound like Bonnie Tyler. I couldn't take a whole hour and a half listening to a full concert of any of them.

She definitely had high sex appeal. Tad generic vocally, but her stage presence was entertaining
