It would be neat with a special area to display things, but although it lacks that, it's still amazing to have with all of the huge spaces, unique decorations, NPC's, etc. It's a grand place to call your home. Maybe you could supplement this with "Dovahkiin's Vault", which is specifically designed to be a place to store things away from home in a safe place, away from prying eyes.
It seems I stumbled upon a custom Skyrim home mode showcased here. Been watching for a little while now. I had always thought I’d seen all like, 20, of the houses on Nexus. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find your channel has opened my eyes to the world of homes in Skyrim. Now the trick for me is gonna be just to find the right ones to have in my game. Nevertheless, your dedication to showcasing these homes and how much you care about it has definitely earned you my subscription. Now we need to get you on HGTV!
Thank you! It helps me stay inspired when I receive nice compliments like yours as well as showing off fantastic work, like Mortum Castle! Stay tuned! I have about 1.2 million more homes I want to showcase. 😆 And that doesn't include the quest mods I want to eventually showcase, too. Enjoy this one on your next playthrough! It's staying in my load order permanently!
super cool, i feel like these mod makers always miss the mark with the castles though. they all feel so empty. especially the ball rooms ans throne room. there should be toggle option where you can send everyone to those rooms where there can be hosted parties and such, would just make it feel more livley. would be cool to play as vampire and host a masqurade ball like in van helsing movie.
It really is one of my favorite castle mods, and it really doesn't feel empty at all. If you really want to live out the vampire ball scenario though, you really need Raven Castle. There is no bigger house mod, and it literally has a button you can push in one of the offices to host a dinner party in this epically big hall. A lot of npc's show up and sit at the table.
I haven't updated my PC version, so I'm not sure. I've actually gone online before and found a way to revert my Skyrim version back completely, which I did to avoid waiting for SKSE to update, so if you dig enough, you could probably take that route if you wanted!
I love its location. Winterhold and Eastmarch are my favorite holds (yep, I like snow!). The balcony is beautiful, too! With the ship, view on the sea, and all. The interiors seem very "European". I wish they were more rustic in viking or dragonborn style. It looks beautiful, I just think the style would fit more in a hold like Haafinger or Falkreath. :) Too bad it requires high poly head, I was just about to try it out, but I am not using that mod.
The mod author actually loosened the requirements for it after release, but I do believe that one still might be required. I really liked all of the NPC's added, their outfits, and that forge, library, and treasury were my favorite parts, aside from the location and the beautiful scenery you can have there at sunset. There was a bunch of footage I edited out flying from there to Winterhold and the statue of Azura, which looked amazing, but the video would've been too long. 😆
@@SkyrimPlus Yea well, I tried it without poly head, but get instantly the error message that the game is missing a "master file". I haven't tried to actually run it but afaik, a missing master = crash on start. Maybe I should have tried anyway. And 3,7 GB, that's huge for a castle mod! Sjel Blad only has 119 mb (for comparison). It does look nice, but I wonder how it became that huge. Might be really high res textures then. In this case, my 2GB vram wouldn't be able to run it anyway. >_
Thank you! There is a book case in the library that is across the room when you first walk in that's "suspicious". 😆 There is also a way in through the armory in the gated room straight ahead when you enter from outside by the ship. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Awesome! Great place, right?! And the mod author is very friendly too! There is a suspicious dresser in the library that leads to the treasury room. Enjoy! 😀
I've seen video of Karlov Manor, but I've never personally explored it. I'll check it out soon. Raven Castle is amazing! I wish there was a way you could buy it. I know there is that battle questline, which is pretty fun to play through if you haven't tried it, but it would be neat if the NPC's afterwards would recognize you as the lord of the property. I like that big dining hall with the scripted dinner, too! And that walk across the bridge to that huge home makes you feel small, very much like approaching this home!
@nodeference8681 So you know about the secret entrance then. 😉 I know the mod author of that one was working on an even bigger castle mod for LE, but I don't know if she finished it. I can't imagine a home bigger than Raven Castle or Mortum Castle. I don't think I'd ever find my way out. 😆
@anonimterminstor4179 Yes. I believe you can have a wife and two kids stay with you too. Very few mods allow much more than that. Mortum Castle is one of my favorite mods I've seen released this year. That forge area is really cool...and the library...and the treasure room...and all of the people. Also, I only covered the highlights. There is more to see, but I would've gotten lost if I did a complete walkthrough. The place is HUGE. Probably second in size to only Raven Castle. That's the largest castle I've seen.
I've uninstalled this one, for the time being, since I am not really playing and just making videos in my spare time, so I am not able to test, although I would assume that any of the guards or women that could be made followers are those that you could change their outfits. This home, Moddor's Manor, and Sjel Blad are three of the neatest traditionally designed homes I've seen. Of course, there are some outside of the box homes that really catch the eye, but if you're considering Mortum Castle as an option, I'd give it a try. It's pretty neat!
I checked both Nexus sites for a map in the images section, and I couldn't find one. I would try either posting on the mod page or messaging the mod author directly on Nexus to ask if one exists. That would be helpful to have, for sure!
Yes, it's available on LE and SE for PC only. The file size would be really large for Xbox, which is too bad for those users because this place was amazing!!!
Didn't like the scenery? I love that gigantic Shrine of Azura and that sky looked amazing. As for the visual mods, I use Ljoss ENB for Cathedral Weathers, EVLaS, Soft Shadows, Dynamic Gamma SE, ECPLW (ENB Complex Particle Lights for Windows), the Lux series, Skyland AIO, and Embers and Inferno for the fires.
@predatorx9457 Ohhhhhhh... I thought eh = meh. 😆 I think I also have a Daedric Shrines mod that increases the size of the already huge statue by like 2 1/2 times... I love being able to use it as a reference point.
No, this is just for PC. I do have a playlist for all of the mods I've covered available for Xbox though. And whenever I add a new video, I always check to see if it is, attach the link to the description, and add it to the Xbox playlist. Here is that playlist, if you're curious: ruclips.net/p/PLdvzE2TS0UFJjBS52rNvHT4cAOmTolYFX
I downloaded it and loved it as my main home, I only wish it had displays for all the unique stuff I have collected over my playthrough.

Just imagine exploring a place like this in real life 😲
I'd probably try to sneak and move in...Just not anywhere near the dungeon or apothecary. 😆
@@SkyrimPlusYes, I would definitely avoid that dungeon!! 😨
i don't normally go for castle mods they're too empty inside, BUT this mod is nice I'm going to download it and give it a try. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely! Definitely not your typical castle mod!
This is such a good castle mod!!! Been really enjoying playing with it!
It really is! I was duper impressed by how much clutter was in it! Usually, castle mods look barren, but he did it right! Love all the npc's, too!
I don't know why, but this music makes me nostalgic for some reason
Thanks! I spent a lot of time trying to find the right mix to match the scenery and tone!

Hey ! Did the mod creator has to modelize this castle ? That's a huge work holy crap !
Not sure! But can you imagine how long it would take to decorate it alone, minus the NPCs, Navmesh, etc. He is awesome (and so is this mod)!
I love its location. Winterhold and Eastmarch are my favorite holds (yep, I like snow!). The balcony is beautiful, too! With the ship, view on the sea, and all.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
It really is a fantastic home...A work of art where you can live, and what a beautiful location too!
