Tony Stark is my all time favorite character and I hope that he will always be the face of the MCU and to some extend he will because if there is one thing that everyone can agree on it´s that RDJ is truly irreplacable, he kicked off the MCU and he will always be remembered for that. Plus he´s one of the most iconic, popular and beloved characters in popculture and movie history and arguably impacted the audience like no other MCU character ever did so I´m not saying that I´m glad he´s gone and won´t be in the focus anymore but what I am saying is that the MCU needs a new hero who is willing to protect it the way that tony used to (with Cap and Black Widow also gone and Thor being off world), the MCU needs a new leader for the Avengers and it seems like Peter will take on that role in the future and also his movie kicks off the MCU post Endgame just like Iron Man 1 kicked off the MCU pre Endgame so it makes a lot of sense. Also if any character has to fill in Tony´s shoes I´ll only accept Peter since he had such a strong bond and connection with Tony that his character will stay an essential part of the MCU even beyond his grave and Tony also mentored Spider-Man so it´s like him directly passing on the role to him because as Happy said: "I don´t think Tony would´ve done what he did if he didn´t know you would still be here after he was gone."

He welcomes him into the environment, builds him up positively and just straight up loves his buddy.
