  • Aluminum powder and iron (III) oxide are combined in just the right stoichiometric proportion. The reaction, which has a large activation energy, is triggered using potassium permanganate reacting with glycerine.

My school never owned a fume hood, much less a double windowed one. And my school wasn't even a public school, it charged tuition. Go figure.

Do you think you could make your glowing iron product more cup shaped? If you could I’d be curious if dropping water in it we could still see the leidenfrost effect occur or if this is too hot. The water might hang out on the hot surface a bit longer than we’d initially anticipate, but it might be too hot and just vaporize the water like you’d expect. Anyway, rad demo!

There are some people who use to hold public demonstrations like this. The molten iron would sink and eventually burst sending hot water and iron bits raining down on people. They stopped holding these demonstrations. LOL.

This is what Breaking Bad would have been like in Canada. Him doing crazy ass experiments with the kids. Just no meth.

If you have access to a large area like a football field you should really do the Aluminum oxide, copper oxide, and magnesium thermite. It is truly a sight to see. Be safe active it from a far and be safe 👍👍 side note I enjoy your TikTok channel and now I am subscribed here. Remember everything is for science as long as your record the results 😉😂👍

Sir, Correct me where I am wrong in following statement-
For Dealing with viruses like Corona etc, Washing hands with soap is more effective as compared to Sanitizers. This is because soap doesn't kills viruses rather removes dirt and oil on which these viruses breed on, so as a whole they get washed away. Whereas Sanitizer containing alcohol content are effective in bacteria as they dissolve their cell wall but in case of virus which have complex structure are majorly ineffective. So one should give priority to Soap and water in case of availability of both.
