- Today I am so excited to share our cozy cottage sunroom transformation adventure! This journey to update our sunroom with a charming cottage-style makeover began with painting the built-ins and trim the beautiful shade 'Stone Hearth' by Benjamin Moore. I've been dreaming of this transformation for quite some time, and now it's finally here!
After refinishing our red oak floors and refreshing various rooms in our home, I felt inspired to extend our cozy cottage ambiance to the sunroom. From painting walls to updating trim and moldings, this project was a labor of love, and I'm thrilled to share all the details with you.
Our sunroom makeover journey involved meticulous painting and thoughtful decor selections. While DIY projects can be challenging, they are immensely rewarding. The end result is a cozy cottage retreat that we absolutely adore.

I’m shocked you didn’t have a drop cloth under your paint can!! I would have dribbled paint on my rug! Sunroom came out so nice. I wouldn’t paint your piano or take away the fan. Beams would look beautiful! Love the coffee table! Great video!

I get paint everywhere no matter how hard I try.
I am with you and hate painting walls...And I am also an artist and have painted on canvas and murals! Ha! I think I feel murals are fun because it's art, and painting walls is just like "prep" work. I like how the piano is a different color from the trim and bookshelves. It's still a neutral color and keeps everything from looking too matchy-matchy. Beams would add lovely character and your new coffee table is gorgeous. The construction is different and is an interesting piece, easily moveable for rough housing😂If your sunroom gets too hot, you may find a fan fixture a necessity. The current fan is nice, and if you are ready for a change there may be other options you will like esthetically and your husband will appreciate functionally. It's awesome your husband finds the sunroof a great space.

I really like the rug you have. It’s subtle, elegant, and it ties the colour scheme of the room together nicely. I had a similar issue to yours. Putting a carpet pad beneath my living room rug made a world of difference. I once saw a few designers discussing the importance of using padding beneath a rug. According to them, it not only increased its longevity, it adds that extra softness.

The sunroom is so pretty and practical too. Beams would look nice and so would a new light fixture but that is a lot of work for your husband. Ceiling fans are needed in some rooms, we have big south facing kitchen windows which makes our kitchen so hot. I already have a crystal chandelier over my kitchen table and it took me years to find a ceiling fan with a similar chandelier light for over my island. Whatever you decide it will look gorgeous. The little coffee table is perfect for your living room.❤️❤️

Looks great and the hydrangea basket hanging looks great in that shelf. Fan looks great. Hey beams would tie in, or make the ceiling a soft sky blue. Or paper with clouds. Oh the table is sweet. Love it❤ Goes so well. Your home is my favourite of many you tubers I follow.

I like the subtle color of the piano with the sunroom colors. I am in the midst of painting my kitchen cabinets in a color (Valspar Chowder) similar to what you've used on your sunroom trim. I love it so much! Especially against the white beadboard wallpaper I just put up in there. It's brighter but calming compared to what I had before. I think a wicker basket chandy in place of the ceiling fan would be beautiful in that room.
