  • Making name plates and plaques is easy with the right material.
Gemini Duets is one that I use all the time and it really ups the appear of the awards that I make. There are other brands out there as well but I get mine from jdsindustries.com
This was done on my 100w omtech laser with the following settings
    Engraving -
500mm/s 18% power .064 line interval (no air)
Defocus 1mm and up power if needed
    Cut-
    48mm/s 40% power

Thank you for this video. I needed to make something for my wife and started looking at using brass but this was much better.

You are one of the best laser channels I've found on youtube. Thanks for all of the advice!

This is so 🔥. What is your acceleration set at? Also do you have a video explaining acceleration vs speed and how to find the best balance?

Hi has anyone have issues with small specks during the engraving. It almost seems as they are burned in and cannot be removed.

How do you get your machine to run so fast with minimal overscan? I run my AF2440 100W at the same settings you have and it has a huge overscan.

Lightburn has a OVERSCAN setting that you can use to dial in your overscan

Nice. I was looking at something to cut costs, this might be the ticket. Could you post the item number? There are pages and pages of Duets!

Thanks for this video! QUESTION, please 🙏🏼 What’s the mm distance between the nozzle and the sheet?

Is this material brushed gold on black acrylic so that it can be cut using my OMTech K40 CO2 laser?

Might be a silly question, but why do you keep the coating on through the cutting instead of removing it at the start?

Because I don’t use the whole sheet at once. Keeping the masking on during storage keeps it from getting scratched.
