Why did they feel the need to hype up this "nephalem" shit so much is beyond me. In the original two diablo's it was only ONE hero each, one special individual, not a goddamn fucking mary-sue race that somehow managed to stand above heaven and hell together.
Story wise I think this expansion was pretty weak. Malthael's reasoning for doing what he did seemed very.. weak. Not to mention the whole using of the black soul stone to try and gain enough power to kill the player. When i saw that i said "the fuck?" Mal who utterly hates demons and has within himself rationalized genocide decides to use the demonic power to enforce his own? Seems a bit counter productive there mal. It wasnt bad I was just hoping for more of a reason than "herp derp I dun like demunzz" out of mal. Oh well blizzard's story telling has fallen off the wagon as of late anyways and its not really whats important with a game like this. The expansion itself breathed all new life into diablo 3.
i feel like malthael was willing to do anything to get rid of evil, even if it meant using demonic weapons for his own purposes like the black soulstone. but he did go insane. besides, i dont think anyone in the high heavens wouldve agreed with his plan to eradicate humanity save for imperius if malthael did not go crazy and attack his angelic brethren. on the contrary, imperius didnt care about humanity's eradication but he knew malthael had "grown sick and must be put down."
***** Yeah but malthael isn't THE Death, just an angel of death, he just liked to called himself as Death itself but he actually isn't, i don't think there is an actual Grim Reaper in Diablo franchise
I sense some hints for the next expansion or Diablo 4. One hint is that he mentions that your character is tempted by the evil and if he/she will bring the world to justice, or bring it to doom.....again.
Jack Harmis It's most likely going to just be a flat out sequel. If you've noticed, all the Diablo games only get one expansion then onward to the sequel. So I have a feeling that in the next Diablo it's gonna be a totally different hero(you) and the bad guy will be your hero from Diablo 3, like how the dark wanderer in Diablo 2 was actually your character Diablo 1. I think that's Diablo's shtick.
Yup I knew I didn't like D3x for a good reason because we circled back to the circumstances of D1. In D1, Diablo roamed the Earth and possessed Albrecht thanks to Lazarus. The hero goes down and kills Lazarus and Diablo, and his soulstone drops to the floor. The hero stabs the stone in his head to contain Diablo. In D2, Diablo possesses the hero and he has to be killed by the new heroes and the stone along with Mephisto's and Baal's were smashed at hellforge to prevent them from manifesting in the Mortal World again. Then in D3, a new race of heroes, the Nephalem, I guess find everyone's essence including Diablo's and trap them in the black soulstone. Adria takes the stone and uses it on her daughter so she can be a vessel for Diablo. Diablo is defeated, Adria is hunted down and killed for her betrayal while looking for Malthael, they fight Malthael who smashes the black soulstone to use the power within and absorbs Diablo and the other evils to kill the Nephalem and is defeated by the heroes. By defeating Malthael however the hero releases Diablo back into the world, roaming to possess someone like in D1. So we just circled back to the beginning.. the hell?? Like literally, what the hell? GTFO Blizzard enough is enough.. This circle is why I stopped.. I want a line because at least a line has an ending.
Akurie Koibito This fight was fucking awesome, you have no idea what you're talking about, everything from the amazing environment, as youu progress through the ending "bridge" to enter the last portal, everything below is awesome, jesus some people are so overdemanding.
I am not talking about the content but it is not polished as well as it must be. Blizzard get their name because of the cinematic in the single player game. HOS has amazing cinematic scenes in the campaign but here they are missed and dumped by easy scratch animation. And about the game-play changes did you ever try Diablo 3 at the beginning? Yes there is a lot of work they put in but forgot one of the tops of their games .... As Warcraft fans did they want a movie with actors or full 2h cinematic movie for the coming Warcraft movie
Derek Blackburn First off I haven't played the game in about two years, since I almost finished Inferno. I rushed through the expansion in 4 hours and didn't die once while being worried I wasn't going to finish it in time for work the next morning. Throw in the fact that I was simultaneously livestreaming, I'd say my gameplay videos are better than anything you'll ever put out in your entire life.
the game was really fun, and imo much better than D3, but the ending really disappointed me. The intro was incredible, the gameplay and atmosphere solid, but no real cinematic at the end kinda ruined the experience for me
