David, I'm a big fan your work and your style, but as someone who is still working through the game, I'd appreciate it if you would not put cutscenes that could contain potential spoilers in videos like these.
I'm far in enough to know that the cutscene at the start gives away a major plot reveal that I would have rather not had spoiled for me. I hope you'll consider this in future videos, especially for newer titles.
This video actually has a lot of spoilers in it and I should have quit at the intro. I wracked my brain trying to remember if it was from the opening of the game and I just didn't remember it, then I got to it in the game. But even later in the video, some of the screens of the classes and heroes are a real killer.
Agreed, this is a video aimed for people new to the game and it’s riddled with spoilers. Not cool.
For me the big tip is to use Nopon coins. The game does not tell you there's a cap of 99 in the menu, or that it's selling the extras automatically. But it WILL tell you about the cap of 99 Ether cylinders right beside it. It's a total oversight. And you'll cap out on these silver coins fairly early on, long before you unlock that nopon shop.
Why so many spoilers in this video?
You've saved me a real headache with class levels. I had no idea that's why they were leveling so freakin slow. Thanks David.
Few seconds in and already spoilers, thats a new record, im on ch 3 and still havent seen that first cutscene in this video......
Some of these later cutscenes should not be in this video.
I just started this so perfect timing! Thank you, great video.
Thanks for the hints/tips! Have yet to crack my copy open.
Thanks for convincing me to try this game. I’m glad I found someone with similar feelings about the franchise, and I’ll use these tips as I start my playthough ✨
Good advice. Thanks for this!
Having a blast so far! Thanks for the class tip on leveling! It explains why I’m stuck on classes since I’m about 6 levels overleveled.
How do u level down then lol
#6 - Don't have both characters in an Interlink pairing be Healers (or the same role in general, but having both as Healers is the most risky). The rest of the your team will be sitting ducks.
YUP, I learned that one the hard way. XD
"Oh no, my main character is down during a boss fight! Hopefully a healer...will...Oh no. They're too busy beating up the boss as a robokaiju to rez me. XD"
@@AegixDrakan Also exactly why I prefer Healer Heroes, especially one of the first three you can recruit, over a Defender or Attacker.
My physical copy just got here, so good timing !
I'll keep in mind that thing about not overleveling and nopon coins.
Dude this video was filled with spoilers, not sure why he would edit it like this especially a video for newbies
More tips -
1 - The more people you have as the same job class the quicker it unlocks for others in your group.
2 - The most important icon to look for on the World Map is the Question Mark. Those quests are what give you Job Classes. If you can't reach a Question Mark even though you have access to that area, it means that you need to either proceed farther in the story or do the Colony Heroes Quest for that area.
3 - As Dave said - UMs are very important, not only for what he mentioned but also because they are the quickest way to get accessories.
As a recent Switch buyer, this series looks right up my alley. I'm typically a PC gamer, but the Switch has so many awesome rpgs. Had to get it. So yeah, the XC games are on my wishlist!
Definitely using this video for new game plus
Agreed; class points definitely are important in the mid and late game.
Overleveling isn't the problem, you should over level enough that every random mob isn't going "come at me bro" and then find enemies that are 5-10 levels higher and grind them for a few minutes to get your new classes on at least 3-4 people.
Once you can climb vines there is a lake in the first area you can access with the plant monsters (Blants i think) at mid-levels that are pretty good to grind and they have very low HP. The right hand side of Agnus castle also has intervention battles against enemies in the 80s, those are good places to spread your classes around.
Also to be noted is that if you’re fighting enemies more that five levels lower than you, cp doesn’t go toward unlocking new classes.
that its true?
@@nicov.1780 I didn’t hear it mentioned in this video. I heard it somewhere else and confirmed it for myself
I’m so in love with this game. It’s just so good. What a world and what fantastic characters. I was so hesitant after buying the second and really disliking to a point of not even finishing it, but boy am I glad I took a chance. Haven’t been able to put it down.
Maybe in the future we get a class/heroes tier list video? :D
6 hours in I hit 27 hours of side content; they need to correct this balance - I miss Xenogears
I've been playing the heck out of, and loving, XC3. I actually didn't know about the CP deficit from fighting lower level monsters, but I'm really glad you told me about the gold Nopon Coins. I'm a pretty compulsive item/currency hoarder in RPGs, and losing out on coins from being maxed out would have really been... not fun xD
Xenoblade 3 actually unironically looks like what I would want a 3d jrpg to look and play like. Open world with more than one party member, towns to explore, and fast travel like ships and aircraft to traverse the giant world and much much more! The battle system looks interesting to me, as it's not just you controlling one character while the others are cpu controlled and you cant change what they do, it looke like you can actually swap between active characters and make for some awesome combat strategies one would only get in a turn based rpg up until now! Every one of your party members seem to actually matter this time!
I would not have known any of this coming in blind so I definitely appreciate the tips.
Great video as always my dude. Hey, I've been thinking about this recently, but how about you do a video on how Persona 5 reinvigorated JRPG interest?
I kinda wished I would've known about the Nopon Coins and what they did at first. At first, I thought they were just there for like if you run out of materials, you could replace them to make meals. Didn't know until half the game that you could use them to upgrade those hero classes. I wouldn't spent more time exploring instead of fighting.
But, I'm glad I did explore this, cause it made me appreciate how much I not only love this game, but this series. And once I beat the game someday on my first try, I'm gonna challenge myself on this game on hard mode someday.
Wish I would've known about the Bonus XP, I'm starting Chapter 5 at like Lv48, when the Chapter 4 boss ended up being like 42. Not game breaking, but I'm noticing I'm WAY ahead of the intended levelling curve.
I did get overpowered but I still level classes fast when I get exp bonus from chain attacking when the mob is gonna die.
I see you didn't mention using cp boosting foods for helping grind or keeping the same hero in party to level quicker ( not sure about the hero one I just seemed to notice unlocking them is faster if they are active
Also around the place where you get to travel by boat, there's a cave with uniques that run at level 100. perfect for that grind if you're already level 99
How in the hell do i get that last little sliver of affinity for the " city " area? I've tried almost everything! I imagine it must be some husks somewhere. Its so dumb that the faster walk speed is locked behind the one colony that you can't give presents to!
well...i guess i'm glad I haven't started playing xeno3 yet (even though i've had it for like 2 weeks)...
I'm 132 hrs on the final chapter on hard mode having to much fun
After this video, I'm glad I waited to play this game 😂
Have you done a "5 things" video for Xenoblade 2? It would be so far down the list that I have almost certainly gone past it a couple times. I dislike the game but wonder if this kind of video might help me get into it.
There are places I'm gettin 300 and 400 cp from uniques and elites I'm level 91 they are around 60 to 75
This game has balancing issues. Its way to easy to over level. They need to add the ability to level down as a standard feature, not just NG+
I wanted to like this game. I mean... I see why people are loving it, but it just doesn't click for me. I gave it a good chance (almost 50 hours and somewhere in chapter 4 at level 48), but I'm just not having fun. Oh well. Glad I seem to be the outlier in this opinion.
I beat the game too, and one thing I wished I knew is that the pace can get awful at times. About halfway through the game, you go about 100m (about 15 seconds walking time) and then another cutscene pops up. This can repeat 5 times over for one area. This is a nitpick, but I wish these 5 shorter cutscenes would go into 1 big cutscene to keep the pace even between cutscenes and gameplay. I only wish I was prepared for them as knowing about them beforehand does help to know when to take breaks and cool off when it happens too often.
The final dungeon is super boring if you're already near level 90 lol
Bis game omg.
How dare u.. XC2 was the best in the series
