Sherry Khattak is the lead singer for the Karakorum band, from Ye Dunya. A bit younger back then. Most Pakistanis had no idea of this extremely talented singer amongst us. It was only after Ye Dunya that Sherry and his band came to the fore. They are very humble and have given interviews to 2 RUclips channels, one of them American, Boring Reviews. If you get in touch with them, they will probably grant you an interview as well. Would love to watch that

My guy Sherry is SUPER talented but unfortunately, he's still so under-appreciated and the literal definition of underrated. I know it's gatekeeping but I sorta love that I'm one of the few people who love and appreciate Sherry as a singer. lmao. Obviously I want him to achieve great success and appreciation but it feels special to know these underrated masterpieces. Now, with Coke Studio, his band is getting more and more audience which is great

Hey Jim, excellent analysis especially since there were no English captions available. You definitely felt the dynamics and structure of the music in this song more so since you were stripped away from any connotations attached to the song that would have been there given the English translation. So a great job there. Someone has provided a translation in comments. Hopefully, it gives you some idea about what the song is about.
Loved your title of a schizophrenic drummer for the great Bilawal Lahooti. He’s the same guy you have seen in other Nescafé songs before and also in many songs of Coke Studio 14. He’s now part of the band Karakoram. The band that sang Ye Dunya with the whole Linkin Park kind of vibe.. that guy who screamed in Ye Dunya is Sherry Khattak. He’s much younger here and he’s the vocalist here too. But his amazing talent is even unmatched here. You can tell already how skilled this guy is.
So Karakoram band has 5 band members and they mostly all met here in Nescafé basement. The drummer and vocalist and the bass guitarist who is Omair Farooq… they all met here. Zain and Annan are the other two guitarists in the band but they are not in this song.
I have to give u a heads up that some songs will not have English captions. So you will have to rely on just music there. Will try to get lyrics for u in English when possible. Cheers!
