- We found this dresser at a garage sale for $10. If I could do it again, I would offer her more.
The wood grain on the drawers is stunning. I knew I wanted to remove the finish and expose the raw wood.
As far as the top, well ... I inflicted some wounds. Boo!!!

Thank you! You made my day!

Thanks Laurie!
Very Pretty!
Carbide scrapers are intimidating, but keep practicing. They work really well in a lot of situations!
Also, I’ll pass along a tip I got from Furniture Flipping for Profit. $1-$2.00 car washing sponges I get from Menards! Cut them with an Electric Knife into 4-6 pieces for top coating. They’re perfect and Cheap!
Yes! I finally found an electric knife for $2 at a garage sale a couple weeks back for cutting foam for seat cushions. I can also use it to cut the sponges you mention. Thanks for the tip.
I actually like yours better than the inspiration pic. Very nice!
Wow, thanks!
Stripper!
You mean instead of the carbide scraper? Ha ha. I'm determined to master the carbide scraper because I really can't stand stripping paint off of furniture. I even recently tried a heat gun to remove latex paint off a dresser. That created just as much of a sticky, gooey mess. Which brand of paint stripper works best for you?
