I totally agree with you. I’m Norwegian and I just love the food of Lebanon. It’s some of the best food I’ve had in my life. I was lucky to travel in beautiful Lebanon and eat real Lebanese food there (ten years ago)..
Tried it ✔ It was definitely great and leaves alot of space for your imagination to work its magic by combining different ingredients for the topping. The only con was that 4 mins were definitely not enough ( it really depens on the thickness of ur manakish ) and it was a bit dry so adding 1 MORE tablespoon of oil did the job . Overall great recipe , my whole family enjoyed it 💕
Nada Alaa I agree.. 3 -4 minutes cooking time is not enough. Yes more oil, more time, and let the yeast sit until it bubbles. The yeast ,water and sugar should be mixed set aside for 10 mins. Plus if you look at the amount of water in the jug it’s 250 mls not 150 as described at the start. The oil added will not make it 100 mls extra so we can’t blame that!
I bought some zaatar today. Never used it before. Never even heard of it before! 😄 Many thanks for sharing your recipe. I'll be making this tonight now that I know what to do with it. Greetings from Scotland 👍
Gordon Graham the cheese is called akkawi, it comes in 2 types either sweet or salty. If you get the salty one, soak it in water to remove extra salt and it becomes sweet. For my manakeesh i use a combination of akkawi and mozzarella since, but for the real recipe just use akkawi. If you can not find akkawi just use mozzarella and it will come out fine❤️
I am making this recibe for the first time today, I am learning more about Lebanese food with a b&b guest I have, he asked me to make manakisk, but he wants to eat it for breakfast, can I freeze the dough and bring out at room temperature when I need it. Thanks in advance
I have heard that Italian pasta does not have a Chinese origin rather it has it's origin in north Africa which makes sense. I bet Italian pizza shares the same origin as Manakish.
Hello! Can you make video about Kishk al laban (Mix bulgur with yogurt, ferment for same weeks and dry the mixture) and keckek el fouqara/Kishk al khameer poor man's cheese ((Mix bulgur with water, ferment for same weeks)? Maked in Majedl el Zoun near Tiro and Hawran in southern Syria.
If you use akkawi cheese it will be salty automatically you dont have to add any salt. Akkawi is the cheese they use in restaurants for manakish it's the traditional cheese
Hello! you can see the exact recipe on the video, the ingredients are on the beggining of the video and then all you have to do is to follow the recipe. 😊
