    I so appreciate your approach in this video of showing an image and then walking us through it re: what catches your eye and why. Very helpful. Thanks.

      I'm so glad this video was helpful for you 🤗 It's my favorite way to teach. I think many of us are visual; so it’s good to see what you like and then break it down. It helps to cement the inspiration in a way that will naturally manifest itself in your own designs.

    Beautiful 💜 I love the "home hug". I kept trying to define my "style", determine how to dress it up, and fight against the color palette I was feeling in favor of what I thought was "right". I'm learning, with your help, to connect with our space. I feel able to "feel" what the space needs to an extent now. It's darker than I kept pushing for. I thought because I had a small space, that everything had to be light in color to appear big enough to feel spacious. Baby steps, but I'm getting there. Your intuitive design styling helps so much to grow into our home. It is finally clicking. I'm getting intuitively attentive to the life that our home yearns to breathe. And the small changes finally feel just right. Thanks for being here and continuing to help us connect uniquely to our space to make our homes homey and huggable. 💜

    Loved the images. As we remodel and redecorate, I was explaining to my 22yo daughter how you encourage the use of adjectives. She looked at the dining room, which is complete, and named "cohesive" as one of mine; I had not said it, she observed it! I was so happy. I felt success, that I was able to design and decorate in such a way that an observer could describe it accurately.
    As always, you're an inspiration!

    Hi Christina, thanks for the very inspiring video. I so enjoyed your images. Each image was original, personal and well balanced. It is inspiring to see how things were brought together, without the feeling of staging. And your walk with us through the images was a great bonus. With an eye for detail and respect for every choice. Loved to watch it.
    I also never was a flowerprint girl, but since I have flower drapes for the closet in my bedroom, I am so happy with it! The room feels even more nurturing, in a way I never expected.
    Ik am afraid I am not a plant lady, I have two plants, cacti or something. My boyfriend is a true plant guy, he even has plants he inherited from his mother, and they are at least 50 years old!
    Yes, my dining table is a display of art books. Love it! I never eat there, but I take video calls and then I push the books a bit aside. No problem.
    Yes, home is so important to feel safe, to grow as a creative, to be yourself, to be nurtured etc. My heart goes out to people without a safe home, like in warzones, refugees, childeren that sleep on the street. I pray for them every day. And also the people who lost their home in the LA fires. I am so very grateful for my small space on earth, my home and sanctuary. It gives me peace and joy.
    Be blessed.

      @ChristinaDiStefanoStudio  3 дня назад +1

      Grady so many wonderful points in your message. First of all I love that your boyfriend has taken in his mother’s plants and wow, to nurture some for 50 years is incredible 💚🪴He is a true plant daddy!
      Also I love that you took a chance on the florals and loved them. Home is a place to try out those things-something we they work and sometimes they don’t but at least we can be adventurous here and give it a try! 👏👏👏 to you!
      (That was my goal with our bedroom. It was much bigger than any room we ever had in the city and it made me uncomfortable at night when sleeping. Since we were willing to try something new: paint the ceiling, have a bed color other than white/beige, we were able to pull off that cozy cocoon that I need to feel safe.)

    • @gradyvandenbosch
      @gradyvandenbosch 2 дня назад

      @@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio Thank you for sharing your process about your bedroom. I recognize a lot in the proces and the feelings about making your bedroom feel nurturing.
      My floral prints were actually a coincidence. I actually was looking for a more graphic pattern, more artistic perhaps. But I couldn't find something I liked within my budget. Then I saw this print. I ordered some samples and the one I have now, was by far the most beautiful, also concerning the rest of the bedroom. I know that you also ordered samples for your bedroom. I think it is an important part of the process of designing a room. Instead of my bedroom being artistic, it now is more homy. More close to my youth. I compensated it with a strong semi-abstract artwork I made a few years ago. I love the contrast with the drapes. Your bedroom turned out great, very good choices. Happy for you that it turned out the way you dreamed it.

    The way you explain and illustrate eclectic is exactly the way I understand it to be; it isn’t a particular style or “theme” in and of itself, but more of describing the act of mixing and matching different things and styles together. The inspiration photos are gorgeous 🤎 love from Singapore 🇸🇬

    • @ChristinaDiStefanoStudio
      @ChristinaDiStefanoStudio  3 дня назад

      I am so glad you understand it that way, it really is about being you and you’re not a style-you’re a human with many layers, history and memories so we won’t be putting you in a box nor your design style 🤗💕

On another note, I have been so sad for everyone who lost their homes and communities. My brain can only handle about two to three big patterns dancing it out together, with the rest of the room being negative space or neutral colours (like matting in a picture frame) to let the eyes take in and appreciate the dramatic-pattern tango.

      You should not jump to presumptions about people. Sadly this way of speaking to people and treating them as if they are not human beings with feelings and emotions is what is wrong with the world.
      Fortunately there are many wonderful people here in this community and elsewhere that spread love and not negativity as you are trying to do here.
      My credentials are all online-enjoy. I hope your day, your life, and your perspective gets brighter 🤍
