    I always come to your videos for assistance and it always does justice. I miss a ton of shots because my shot line is too far to the left so with that I am trying to fix the follow through as you said. Also going to work on the segmentation of down with down and up with up. Thank you Coach, have to get right to work tomorrow

    Works for me! Thanks. I just did 10/17 3s earlier. My observation to myself: When I am not squared up on the basket when my defender is on me, I tend to shoot and turn a way little to be able to square up to the basket, and it's great. I'll practice more.

    Hey Coach C.! I have some suggestions that I hope you will consider haha. After tilting my feet at a quite big angle I still missed shots left to right. I discovered that apparently the tension moved to my guide arm, being too stretched out as I bring the ball up to my shot pocket. This has resulted to the guide hand to either move between the shot motion, or being forcefully adjusted as the ball is being released. When I reduced my feet angle in a considerable amount, my shot percentage dramatically increased instantly. I really think that in your next video, you should discuss about it. I love your videos by the way I'm a fan for the last two years :)

  • @HAYABUSAHUMP
    @HAYABUSAHUMP Год назад

    This is a great video and the tips of what to do are spot on. Just one thing I'd add is that for tip 2 (offset feet) the reasoning is more that it gives you weight behlnd the shot and more forward to back stability. You are throwing a 2+ pound ball a good distance so you will be better off having forward to back stability which will allow for the increase in backward force that comes from pushing the ball forward.
    Slow your speaking down! Maybe if you can't slow down just repeat your words because there's a lot to absorb here.
    Again a great video covering some of the main reasons people miss!

    Could please make a video on how to relieve shoulder tension when shooting, I have that problem

    • @mdtakes27
      @mdtakes27 6 лет назад

      The Tilt is key to taking that shoulder tension away. When you square ur feet to the basket it gives tension and extra unneeded strength to ur shoulder. tilting ur feet opposite to ur shooting arm can reduce that tension.

    • @heuuu237
      @heuuu237 6 лет назад

      Note too that bigger tilt does not necessarily mean lesser tension. For example, in my case I've been doing a big tilt for the past 2 years but I only recently discovered that the reason why I still missed ALOT of shots is because my guide arm is too stretched out since it is further to the basketball, which still resulted to left-right misses.

    Hey coach, I'm a good shooter . I make threes a lot when I play 1v1 against good players. But when I try to practice my shot I often miss a lot of shots that I normally make. In organized games I also miss shots I make normally. Please help, is it how I practice or it it metal. If you want a video of me shooting I would post it.

  • @christianburrell28
    @christianburrell28 6 лет назад

    Kyrie, Curry and many other great shooters don't start extending way before their trigger point because depending on when you extend your shooting elbow determines how much power transfers from your lower body to your upper body. If your legs are straightened by the time you extend your elbow then almost no power transfers from your lower body.

  • @dagnut
    @dagnut 5 лет назад

    The big flaw in this is that it's easy to defend.. You bring the ball down like that and I'm having it.. It gives me time to recover as a defender. This fine for spot shooting or coming off a screen with a good look but if you're young player I'd get some power in my arms and learn to release quickly....as well as learning this

  • @AlsbballtrainingCa
    @AlsbballtrainingCa 5 лет назад +2

    I teach my players to be square to the rim, if you look at your body your still square to the rim after you say your angling your feet. All your doing is what I teach my players which is to bring the opposite foot back 2-3 inches which will give them the same effect as what you say is angling your feet. By teaching players to angle their feet without a trainer next to them helping them you will have players who have some wonky 45 degree angle bodies. if you pause your video at 3:19 your feet are actually both straight towards the net which does help with you having a straight shot. ... I could go on but your pretty well on point, just a few small things to consider. I'm not saying your wrong because your right however the wording could hurt peoples shooting ability.

    • @jordanmcdonald5978

      I think it just all depends on how far you bring it up left. Lonzo's is very exaggerated while KD's is noticeable, but much more subdued. I'm also a right-handed shooter that brings it up from the left.
      *EDIT:* Also, even more importantly, Lonzo's set point *IS* on the left side of his body, while KD's is still near the center of his body even though he starts the motion from his left.

      slowly shoot more and more with your elbow under the Basketball and you will have a straighter more powerful shot

      do what is most comfortable, and dont bring your set point behind your forehead otherwise you will achieve a 2 motion shot

    Hey, coach. I have a few tips that work for me. I noticed you tend to pull your shooting hand back after you shoot, and before the ball goes through the hoop. I think it would be better to keep your elbow locked with the hand and arm pointed at the hoop until the ball goes through the hoop. Also, I have found shooting from the same distance, say the three point line, 30 to 50 times in a row will help perfect your shot. As long as you can analyze why you missed shots. Then you can make the necessary corrections. Such as, the ball hit the front of the rim (add more power), the ball hit the side of the rim, (be sure to roll your fingers off the very bottom the ball, the wall hit the back of the rim and bounced back out (give it more arch) etc. THEN, when you hit a good shot, remember how it felt, and repeat it the next time.
