My brother had Black Sabbath Vol 4 in 1973 when I was 7. People were still listening to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young in those days... nobody played music like Black Sabbath in that era.👍
We listened to both. They went together as both could jam and were psychedelic. Those are my two favorite bands. Rock stations played both all of the time. They still are my two fav's and both are still played on rock stations.
In the UK Sabbath were promoted mainly by the pub and club DJ's as the BBC in general wouldn't play there music on the radio at first. I was lucky and was involved with a few DJ's at the time and got Led Zep 2 and Paranoid from there agents music shop early on. Been into rock music ever since, even now surfing you tube looking for new groups regularly.
My life would have been different without Black Sabbath as a musical influence. This man's longevity and his continued work in music makes me truly happy. Happy New Year metalheads!

The paranoid album is what got me playing at 15 ..that's my band man.. everything I play of my own has a touch of Toni in it. .I guess he just really influenced me as a kid ..imagine if he didn't lose his finger tips ,I think he would have studied a more advanced technique,and sabbath may not have sounded like they do,..thanks for the sacrifice Toni and not quitting on your dream...I also liked alot of the music and riffs with Ronnie..keep jammin bub

The first vinyl record I ever placed on a record player as a kid in the 80s was "We Sold Our Souls For Rock n Roll". I was hooked. It set the bar for music for me. It made me a guitar player. As I got older I worked my way thru all of Ozzy's guitar players, learning their styles and tricks, and the influence you had on all of them is just glowingly apparent and wonderful. I have a hard time playing guitar for 10 minutes withiut diving into one of your riffs, because what else do you play when you want to hear the gospel? \m/

I am the bloke who got in the car accident in Lakeland, Florida in 1975 while following you around (at the age of 19) and then became long term friends with Mark Forster and was able to see the band as a guest until his passing in 1991. I am in touch with your manager Ralph who said you may be interested in much memorabilia that I possess. Also on the official Black Sabbath website, in the history section, the second photo down, the black % white, I took that photo in 1972 and gave it to Ozzy in 1975. I hope to one day thank you all for a life time of good memories. I am 69 now. Happy New year Sir!
