They are of course downsides but how will we supply 80 mio. with merely renewable energies. Nuclear energy got a bad name because there 2 disasters which where only caused due old and cheap technology. And even with those 2 disasters, it's nothing compared to the effects of climate change by CO2. Many people die from air pollution every year and it will only get worse. Nuclear energy is actually one of the safest energy production methods. That's one thing the french can do better. And if the french can do it, we should be able to do it too.
