I'm not a fashionista but even I can see what a great eye the man had for line, color, proportion, art history ... and importantly a respect for women; even his haute couture creations are wearable...not just concepts displaying a designer's fantasy. Truely has influenced what every woman with any sense of style and taste wears. And the show had hiccups here and there but the way those dresses move and flow is mesmerizing.
Years later and I still love the styles! So very sophisticated ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

YSL is truly the greatest when it’s comes to Haute Couture! His silhouettes and trailering were the best in the world. His color combinations glamorous and unsurpassed. Fabric and pattern selections amazing. YSL pant suit was one of Lauren Bacall’s favorite. And for good reason, it made a woman feel sexy and strong yet comfortable. Need I say more?

One of my favorite designers and a man who was beyond his time....his inventions in the wardrobe of a woman are what are staples today...women have no idea that a pantsuit was brought to the forefront by Yves saint Laurent...who drew inspiration from the stars of the 30's
A true master, every single piece is just perfect. The color story, the lines, the movement of the pieces. Just makes me cry honestly.

The little black boy stole the show!
loved the clothes but the presentation could have been better, some of the models were oustanding and some where superb, whereas some were sub par or below which threw off the whole vibe of the show, they should have been better rehearsed/choreographed and then the runway & backdrop floral arrangement was underwhelming. I wish they had done the runway and floral background the way they did the YSL couture shows, that was spectacular.

This was YSL's final show before retiring. Why is the soundtrack so horrible fading in & out which takes away all the beauty of his creations?

Yves Saint Laurent ... cet homme qui a fait des robes pour un monde qui n'existait plus. Peintre de la vie moderne, œil à vif, traversant les époques pour en habiller l'ambiguïté dans un parfum de luxe, de vertiges et de décadence. Ce défilé est un splendide hommage à l'homme et au métier où brillent les derniers feux d'un certain art de vivre.

I think Carmen was overall the best walker. At @36:00 and @1:06:29 she is simply outstanding! Exuding pure elegance, class and sophistication. I would dare to say that she even outperformed the likes of Naomi and Mariacarla (two of the greatest walkers ever). If Carmen had been around at the beginning of the 90's, she definitely would have been up there with Linda, Nadja, Christy, etc.
Sandy du Soleil Naomi stole the show when she came out with the fur dress.
Good comment about Carmen. She was not at this point at the zenith of her career when did those beautiful ads for Michael Kors. Her hair was still a light mousy brown color, not yet blond, but, yes I do agree her walk was very, very good. Better than most. Of course if Dalma, Iman & Pat Cleveland were in this show it really would have been over the top.
Sandy du Soleil These 3 ladies all have terrible feet -- inflamed bunions for all, hammer toes, etc., the worst being Ms. Campbell. One wonders if their bad feet were caused by such unnatural kinds of walks and unfit high-heel shoes?
Perhaps that style of walking is an acquired taste... I think it looks jerky and unnatural. Her feet cross in front of each other (right foot lands under left hip and vice versa), which sends her torso into contortions to counterbalance it. I see no grace in such movement: she looks like an alien who read about human locomotion in a book and tried to mimic it, having never seen it done. It does the garment no favors, either: how do I know how the dress will look on a natural person?

This is real history ! Can't believe this show has only 283K views ! Despite iconic outfits, terrible model casting. Thank God for Jerry Hall 49:01 and Katoucha 59:37 though ! Otherwise, too bad they didn't call back Victoire and Karen Mulder out of retirement [original YSL girls with sass and class !]

Indeed, especially the way she poses at the end of the runway. That's Natalia Semanova, who was one of Yves' favorite models in the late 90s/early 2000s. She was the bride in one of his couture shows -- in the year 2000, I believe.
