I'm at my Farm House these days, and there's a place here which is very close to my heart as I've spend my beautiful childhood there. That place is my Old House in Village. It's almost 30 minutes walk away from my new house in Village.
I'm sure everybody has some beautiful memories of childhood of places, people, food etc. I'm sharing mine with you all, since you've also become part of my family now.

Indeed the childhood days spent in himachali village with cousin was the best part of our lives. I still remember how all cousins and friends used to ho to bau for collecting water and return after 3 hours of playing,singing ,dancing....

During My Childhood.... I used to play in Mud with My Cousin. We used to make houses, whole Village. It was so much fun. Never will it come back again.

Remind me of dada ji's house in nandpur(shimla) same as yours. my naani ji's (from Dharmsala(upper), kangra,HP) has old house with floor having mud with surface of cow dung. Still it was preserved today..In Kathua (JK(UT)), the nana ji's house floor was having mud with surface of cow dung...it was back to 30 years from now...We played kanche with our mama ji's sons I and elder brother was the first to loose all his kanche(s) in the game. We do not how to play with it. We made small hole in the floor and then play.. Also play other game like hira, sona,chandi,moti..another game like raja,mantri,chor and sipahi...count the scores in the end of the game. Thanks@Jyotika...recalling the sweet childhood memory.

I don't think they are same, himachali lifestyle still reflect their heritage, their house architecture, their attire, the way youth has inherited and attached to their culture is entirely different than uttrakhand. Himachal specially upper region looks more authentic.
Uttrakhand phari culture looks staggered and its disintegrating fast, we are far away from our folks, our language, our traditional houses, no one knows their traditional attire, and more over villages are abandoned .Exception could be in part of Jaunsar, Rawain , some part of Jaunpur and upper region of pithoragarh and chamoli.
