  • Pouring concrete in winter has many challenges but when the trucks are late and the mud is hot and you are short on guys it can be a real pain. We managed to pull it off though, check it out.

    As a former bricklayer, I have to admit that what I know bout pouring/finishing would fit comfortably inside a thimble. But, I do see a few things worth noting. 1. You, as well as Ryan at Victory Outdoor Services, Have a calm yet commanding demeanor. 2. Your crews are talented and professional. (IE, they show up every day on time and aren't drunk or high. These days that's huge, as I'm sure you know all too well. For what it's worth to you, es muay bueno senor! Be blessed Jesus Rules!

      Do the concrete trucks add water in site (according to what you tell them). Or is water added to the mix at the factory?

    Those little engines like on the power screed use diaphragm carburetors. Pressure waves from the crankcase move the diaphragms and that's what moves the fuel around, basically a primitive fuel injection system. Those diaphragms start out very flexible like fabric, but over 5 to 10 years they stiffen up so they become more like paper. When that happens, they don't react as well to the pressure waves, so they don't deliver enough fuel. A diaphragm kit costs around $15 and takes less than an hour to install, and that usually makes them work like new again. I usually change the hoses and fuel filter at the same time.

    10% ethanol gas is your problem with your power screed . It's hydroscopic take the water out of your little machine and the Jerry can, and fill them with 91 octane non-ethanol and when storing long time, Ryan machines bone dry, or keep them topped off. Ethanol traps a water from Air and water is heavier than gas, so if your machine does have water come that will be the first thing that picks up. And the motor on your power trial, wouldn't be shaking so bad, causing ripples in your cement if you took the Briggs and scrap-em engine off and replace it with a honda engine. Awesome show

    Another exciting video - and thanks. Just an observation of the radiant tube: it looks like there is not nearly enough. Their boiler will be pushing heat really hard to keep the slab warm. We just did an 860ft2 slab with 1300 lin ft of tube - about 6" spacing. There was no tube installed under the interior wall plates or under cabinets, so the amount of heat transferred is going to be substantial, and we can use a smaller boiler. We also used the 4.25" HeatSheets and they are fantastic. Cheers guys!

    • @bondobuilt386
      @bondobuilt386  3 месяца назад +1

      I questioned where he left tubing out but I guess he super insulates these Townhouses. He has built a bunch and he said they heat amazing. We always run 1 foot of tubing per square foot of space. We run it at 1 foot spacing and have done hundreds of them. They work amazing. Yours will work real good as well I am sure. I don't think I could be competitive with that much insulation. We run 2" foam board and I can buy it for less than $45 a sheet.

    You did real good considering the truck was that late as that slump looked pretty rough. Weather here is like yours. Unseasonably warm with only a couple of days of snow compared to last year, it came in at the first of November and didn't leave till March. I've got a gas screeder and am thinking of a battery one. What do you think of a battery run screeder?

    @3:30 Sorry, but your truck is not all setup. You still need to set the time on the radio and GPS. It would drive my OCD crazy. At the beginning on the video (@0:40) you were saying it was 6:40am, but your radio was showing 5:15am and your GPS (11:48a).
    Nice truck by the way and keep up the good work!

    Bondo I have a question along the edge is there. I've seen was that Styrofoam on the walls up against the block vertically. And then you had your Styrofoam on the bottomwith your wire mesh and encourse your water. The star phone up against the block. I take it that styrofoam Is lower than the block and how much concrete is actually on The Wire mesh up to the top of the block there on the edges? You're covering the Styrofoam that's vertical, right? So how much concrete are you putting up again? And on top of the vertical star from inch two inch what is it
