Dear Kayla my son is 31 months, he knows a lot of words and phrases. I have seen your videos with big interest. He knows numbers to 20 and letters, he can relate the letters to the words like" t for train, truck etc ...lately he is calling mummy and Mason (his name). He doesn't play with friends in the nursery to much but he plays with friends he knows. Do you have any advice ,do u think he is ok growing? The early intervention said he should be 3 years to have a valuation 😞

Hi! They won't offer an evaluation until 3 years? I have tons of free videos on my youtube to help with a few small things but if you are looking for a step-by-step guide on exactly what to do then look into my online course for parents called "How to Teach a Toddler to Talk." school.walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com/

Hi there. Your videos are very helpful.
Question: can you give any advice for transitioning from " hand over hand"?
My twins are successfully saying "help" and properly holding their spoons while eating. However they are not attempting to feed themselves on their own. How can I get them to try using the spoon on their own? Without hand over hand? Thank you.

Hi there! I don't specialize in this, it sounds more like an occupational therapy question, but it might help if they see you using a spoon and you are encouraging them to try "like mommy!" Thanks for watching my videos!

Hi! Thanks for your comment. Reach out to your doctor and ask for a referral for a speech and language evaluation. Better to get started as soon as possible.

Holy crap! I posted this comments 4 years ago! Wow! Let me give you guys a update! My son is 6 years old now and yes he is diagnosed autism. BUT he has came soooo far! We put him in speech & occupational therapy along with early schooling for children with disabilities & he has learned sooo much! He can verbally name his dinosaurs, fruits, vegetables, planets and all kinds of animals. He can tell me his needs & wants. & last year started using the potty. This journey has been a roller coaster and we do have our ups & downs. Like my baby can’t tell us full sentences… like if I say “how was school?” He can’t verbalize that but I know one day he will get there.

Hi. My son is autistic. He started speaking many words meaningfully like Cow, Dog, etc. but when I ask him what's this he never answers. This is happening from 3 the last 3-4 months. Can you please tell us what should we do? We are from India and we already don't listen to his gesture requests.

My son would be 2 in 2 months and only says 2 or 3 words and it’s only every once in a while that he would use these words. I already shared my concerns with his pediatrician at his 18 month check up and recently and she keeps telling he will be fine and I shouldn’t worry until he is 3. But I feel that he should get the help he needs now rather than later right?

    • @WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy
