  • In this video, I share information about natural hair care for moms who have daughters. It breaks my heart to see little girls whose hair is styled with all kinds of hair extensions.
Hair extensions are not healthy for our naturally curly hair. As mothers, it is important to model and inspire natural beauty in your daughters.
That is what will give them confidence in their God-given natural beauty in this world of artificial beauty. I hope you find this video helpful.

My daughter loves to replicate everything i do. I never put extensions on her hair but she saw me use make up and extensions on my natural hair and wanted to do the same . I just stopped everything because i didn't want her to follow my example so i had to be set free from the world's beauty standard AND laziness. No make up, no extensions and jewerly and i told her that I was wrong and why i was wrong and she understood. She is only 5 years old. We think our children are too young to understand but with the Holy Spirit , everything is possible.

Thank you for being an example for her. May God give you grace to continue to inspire your daughter unto godliness.

I always wonder why women have to add something to themselves before they think or society thinks they're pretty. I still don't get it. We have to be look fake before we look pretty. People like you help make it evident that natural beauty is priceless. God bless you

I have a daughter. Family relatives wanted her ears pierced but I would not do it bc I didn't want to plant that seed of insecurity and thats the reason why i told them she will not have pierced ears. I want my daughter to feel beautiful and know she's beautiful even if she doesn't have pierced ears, false hair, or makeup. If she wears it when she's older, that'll be her own choice.

Powerful message! I have a son now but I hope that if God should bless me with a daughter that I can pass on to her to accept herself just as God created her and to set that example for her. Ive shared your message on my Facebook page to help spread the message to others

Aw, thank you so much for watching and sharing!
You can as well teach your son to appreciate natural beauty by modeling it coupled with prayer so that he grows up to appreciate it and desire it in his future wife😊.

Sister Charity I totally agree with you about the use of fake hair. I have 4 girls and it is difficult to do 4 head plus my own...5. To be honest I don't have the energy or time to get my hair done... needless to say I have no hair but I am truly not a fan of the "add ONS"....need to enlist you to ambark on growth retention journey..

Thank you. I have always had the same mindset too. I also am of the opinion that extentions should be worn by them when they grow up and choose to do so. Thank you again Ma

I've actually wondered about extensions, I would think it tricks people into thinking that's your hair.

    • @MrsCharityUmar
      @MrsCharityUmar  3 года назад +2

Exactly! Ultimately, the use of extensions is the portrayal of a lie which God hates.

I have got natural hair because I don't have to have straight one to look beautiful and don't want chemicals on my hair. I love natural beauty too but this is my personal opinion, preference and decision. The issue of add-ons, whether they are make up, artificial hair/extensions, jewelleries, relaxers etc are a matter of preference and should not be ascribed to as one not being contented or a yard stick for appreciation or not of what God gave you. We need to be careful not to encourage hypocrisy in the church. I don't feel less spiritual because I wear make up or use it to judge others. I think motive is key- not everyone who wears wigs/extensions don't wear their natural hair out or don't appreciate natural hair. Some just want a different look or for protective styling. On children, yes, they watch their parent's dressing and the way they carry themselves and yes, this could impact them but there are godly parents whose children just turned the way they did, not their fault at all. There are other several factors affecting the child you know not just parents so avoid blaming the parents. I came across your profile recently and I really like your contents but on this occasion and topic there is need for greater sensitivity to other people's preferences (which may not necessary be same as yours) as long as they are modest and moderately done. thank you and God bless.

Unfortunately this was not the case for when I was a little girl. My hair was described as tough and kinky by the hair stylists that cared for my hair until I got a relaxer at the tender age of 6. The lord has blessed me with a son but I chose to keep his hair cut short. I hope to sew the seed of natural beauty and self love if the lord sees it fit to bless me with a daughter.

I love natural beauty and natural fresh clean faces are the most beautiful thing in this world ! In today's worldly culture girls are taught and guys too artificial beauty is to be sought after , thanks to so many celebs that showcase anything and everything fake ... I don't wear makeup or hair pieces or jewelry , I'm comfortable in my skin thanks to the Holy Ghost living inside of me ..When I see fresh clean wholesome faces and natural hair walk into a place full of so many with makeup and tons of bling it's like another world type of beauty in our times and it stands out among all !

God bless you dear sister in Christ,
Thank God for your sweet sweet spirit. I’m also thanking God for the way He used you to deliver this exhortation.
God bless you. I have a daughter and refuse to let her get extensions we both wear out natural hair and yes, it is beautiful.

    - no plucking or altering eyebrows (perversion/beautification for other unrelated males)
    - must wear a cross necklace to show faith (Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians wear them at all times and have them placed when they are baptized as babies)
    - *this is cultural* men are not to have any piercings whatsoever, but women and girls are allowed (piercings and jewelry are seen as feminine)
    - no dyeing hair in unnatural colors (anything other than brown or blonde)
