Once you appreciate a great coffee, you can spot a really badly made coffee a mile away. I have a couple of coffee dealers that are just artists. They've spoilt me, because now when I'm out of town, I can't enjoy coffee made anywhere else.
They are not bad priced, because you can set them up with the correct tamp pressure and you always get the same. Makes sense if you have multiple employees making coffee and some are not as good as others.

My colleague don't drink coffee at all. He's a barista. Sometimes you have to taste the coffee to perfect the calibration, but you dont have to drink it.
There are tons of chemicals in roasted coffee, all of them with different solubilities in water by varying the brewing recipes, one can somewhat control what sort of chemicals are in the resulting cup hence producing various flavours from the same coffee bean of course i'm talking about good coffee beans grown in high altitude and decently roasted. Bad coffees are just boring
