I think we forget that Sir Jim structured a deal which was more favourable than Qatar to buy Man United, he is a genius at structuring deals which is why Man United are still pursuing Yoro and Neves. United believe they can put a deal together for those two players.

That is not how amortisation works, you can pay the whole amount, but then amortise it over the length of contract
The transfer fee will still be accounted for over length of the contract, but there is a separate issue on the timing of the payments and having the cash in the bank account to make those payments

Usually clubs want to sign a marquee striker not a support striker. Usually the support strikers wud be up and coming players. Also the agent's commissions must've halted most other clubs
