I have the pacer test tomorrow because i don't want to get a low score and embarrass myself in front of my class i usually only get 30 but I'm really nervous for it
@@ThePESpecialist I have a few questions: Idk if this happens to everyone, but when I run in my gym and when I breathe in my nose, cold air enters so it's uncomfortable to breathe so I have to cover my mouth then breathe,is there anyway to stop the habit? 2.Whats a reasonable amount of training?Like how long should I train and what should I do in training? 3.How do I stop cramps?(female problems ;-;)
It’s fine I couldn’t pass 10 but in my new school I got 20 but I felt like I could do more I’m trying to workout for the pacer. Plus I want to get faster
Bummer! I love watching students break personal records and push their limits, you could always do it on your own if you really want to see how many you can get
My school has a fitness unit and in that unit the PE teacher does a push up test, sit up test, pacer test, flexibility test, and they weigh us in front of the whole class but its in the back and they also measure your height and we all get a grade for how good we do it. I fricken hate it
Weighing in class or infront of people is just mean cuz there might be those kids who judge you but also there would sometimes that person who’s the lightest and then someone wants to beat that person and be the lightest which isn’t good (I’m saying my opinion)
I teach Middle School and we have the students everyday for a semester. We try to participate in the Pacer every two weeks, using it somewhat as a training tool. Every student also has a data sheet where they record and graph their progress. We find this as a great motivator as the students have a visual representation of their progress over time to accompany their goal setting. As students turn in their papers, it offers a few seconds for a one on one talk/compliment/motivator.
@@brunoramirez4330 I wrote this when I was overweight and now that’s I’ve lost weight I have done like 40 laps lol. It’s just I quit running when I feel the slightest bit tired. I am not that lazy with everything I just hate running lol.
Fifth grade I got 131 and I was the second to last person to finish, I was competing with a really competitive guys, that happened in 6th grade I got 159, then 7th that also happened but I got 121
My p.e. Teacher was in the army, and I’m in 5th grade... but he makes us go to 23 for a level three... the average pacer goal for 5th grade is 18. But now it will be easy in middle school
I get the music-conscious students hooked onto pacing themselves by telling them the first seven lengths are 3.5 measures of 4/4 time. The next set, 3 measures 4/4 time. Great videos.
I have been using the 20 meter pacer test remix and the kids love the beat and how the songs change each level. This is way better than the old version. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/EPFzgblbjBk/видео.html Thanks Zack Kauffman for making this. Thanks for some new ideas that we can do in class. Maybe I will have each class try and set a record to see how long they can in a relay format.
I have been using it as a warm up while I have badminton nets up and I call it Beep Game. The kids get a point everytime they make it to the line at the beep. There is a lot of discussion in my Board about using this "test", these modifications are great and I think it is important to introduce the Beep concept to the kids. I will am inviting my grade 7s & 8s for the actual beep test to see what our fitness level is at and I will do it with them.
I usually don’t do great in pacer tests (it’s the hardest physical test personally) and now that I’m in high school and they take it for a grade, I feel more pressure than ever and I’m honestly really scared
I get a 45-58 on the pacer a tip i have is just to just breathe in really hard after you make it to the other side because have you ever felt like your eyes are really blurry? Well thats because u are losing oxygen in your brain and lungs and it forces you to stop.
I know that you don't use these tests to grade your students. How do you grade your students in your school? Is it just based on participation, or something else? Thanks.
We grade kids based on our district report card standards - although we can only give 3 grades at my school "Meets", "Progressing" or "Unable to Meet". It just depends on what outcomes we're focused on during that grading period. I typically try to look at grades as communication between the teacher and the parent - just trying to help them know where their student is. Participation does play a part, since in most cases you won't be able to meet the outcome without participating.
I have the pacers tmrw and I’m scared cause I have to do 30 cause of my age and the last year I would of done it but when we did a pre test this year I only did 24
The thing is I'm slow ;-; probably the slowest in my class and half of our class will do it based on our last names and I'm up first so half of our class will watch us run and I can't breathe when I'm doing it and we have to get 17 to get an A and I'm usually the first one out and it's so embarrassing
Totally get that - it's hard. Just do your best and forget the rest, it's not a competition. Try to improve 1 more than you did last time and if you want to get better try to build more movement into your life. Everyone is different, just try to improve on your own personal best score
my school works weirdly then, for practice we get into groups of three and get between cones and run one by one. And the final test your name gets called by the teacher and you get put between cones while running with the other ppl that were called for their turn. While EVERYONE in our grade watches us. Embarrassing. 😭
The Pacer is what Secondary schools use to assess fitness, so I want my students to be familiar with it - it's also our State Recommended Cardio Test. I wasn't familiar with the Cooper Test - but after looking it up I think the main benefit of Pacer is the ease of keeping score and the ability to perform the test in a small space (15-20 meter gym). Especially with large class sizes keeping track of the # of laps run in 12 minutes can be a little confusing.
I’m really really good on it cuz I’m godly fast boy and I usually get like 60 or high lol and I have the pacer tomorrow I’m so HAPPY I LOvE THE PACER idk why lol
Do you do the Pacer test in place of running the mile? We have a nice track, but limited time, of course, so I'm wondering if I should just do one or the other. LOVE your work! Thnx!
They actually do grade our fitness , is that bad ? Also I wanna go up to 130 pacers a kid in my class did that much and I’ve gone to 90 I wanna go higher bt how ??
It's not best practice according to the people who created the test and most of the Physical Education Community, but some places do it because it's the only way to motivate kids to actually put in their full effort.
